I was at the grocery store buying Jesus
I was standing in line at the store buying Jesus
Absolution was the blue light special
But the price was still too high
The price was still too high
The price was remembering
A yellow nightie with a smiling red apple
I was five years too old for it
But it had happy memories
It used to have happy memories
He was a man of God
A friend of Dad's and a
Man of god
And it was ok because
I was nearly a woman
I was 14 and I knew it all
I knew it all because
Well, I was 14
And he was a man
Of god
Women and priests
The keepers of men's secrets
So it was ok
I was at the grocery store buying Jesus
Standing in line at the store buying Jesus
Absolution was the blue light special
But the price was still too high
The price was still too high
The price was remembering
A darkened theatre and I
Making my way to the popcorn
Winding out of the seats to go pee
And get popcorn
His hand was fat and warm
His cock was flaccid and hot
It was ok he said
He was a man of god
And I was an innocent
Children and priests
The keepers of mens' secrets
So it was ok
I was at the grocery store buying Jesus
Standing in line at the store buying Jesus
Absolution was the blue light special
But the price was still too high
The price was still too high
The price was remembering
Telling the truth and being told it wasn't enough
It wasn't enough because the truth
Does not set you free
No, it does not set you free
For once you have told the truth
You have to prove it
It being truth is not enough
Now you have to relive it
You have to face it down
Face the lying man of god
As he says you've got it wrong
As he says you're just trying it on
How can you ruin his life's work?
His reputation
For your small truth that
Meant nothing
Was nothing compared to the work of god
Was simply a secret
Between you and a man of god
Victims and priests
Keepers of gods' secrets
So it was ok
To be standing on the corner
Buying Jesus
Because Absolution
Is still too high

I wanted Buterflies but what I got was Wasps,

All the while selling Me something I\'ll never use but always wanted.

Tell Me a Story about Sunshine at Night time while Moonglow in the afternoon snows rain down on Me.

Baby\'s are born so loose and forlorn, I can not speak, they\'er new found tongues are to sqeek.

Having and Wanting, waiting and thinking this not for me, I believe...

But I post anyway ( loaded with typo\'s misspellings and just plain weirdness and unfinished thought.)

wind in willows and a vainglorious smile in the moment of uncertainty

grasping the gist but lost in the will to find out
living and dying in the why did you do it when you could have been silver
like mercury slipping off my tongue
like death taking me to the newness of bliss

silver like the hair that fell across the lens
silver like your breath in winter
silver like light across water in the weakest dawn

goading the mass but hot in the jazz of forgiveness
singing and crying out with the joy that was the last breath i\'d ever take
like sex in the twilight by the lake
like death taking you to the edge of my view

silver like the child that fell from the sky
silver like your breasts in summer
silver like light across the ages of the weakest man

At this stage of my life, you couldn\'t get me to RENT Jesus...

Polemic 1, 2005

Where do I start to speak my mind?
At home, where I will be understood,
Or out in the world at large
Where many will willfully misunderstand?

I am no philosopher, priest, or politician
Seeking glory or power
To aggrandize my name
Neither am I so humble
As to wish no influence or status

But my voice is my own
Unique in the world
No less worthy of a hearing
Than many of the powerful
The wealthy
The famous

What makes the difference
Between me and you and them?
Is it only the tired sycophancy
Of those too lazy to seek evidence
Preferring to spin stories for bored minds?

I will take the challenge
I will be heard
It may involve pain
For my listeners
And humiliation for me
-- the powerful do not lightly
relinquish their sway

Fear, greed and half-truth
These the real enemies
Of we, the people
I will shout
I will not go gently
I will be heard by the listeners
I will be seen by the watchers
I will be understood by the sane
Because the world of humanity must see reason
Or self-immolate on those false altars.
