Sure, always happy to talk about how tracks are made.
I\'m playing the Rhoades and my funky upright acoustic piano. The synth is all Prophet 08, great all analog synth. The other synthy sound is the Theremin.

We\'ve already played it twice through, then played a few over again that I really liked. This release is really wonderful.
I really enjoy your playing throughout. I am also enjoying the way it was mixed.
 Another question, were the "basic tracks" laid down as a group or was it done track by track ? Or both, etc ?

I\'m glad you are enjoying the CD. To answer a few of the questions here, The CD recording was a combination of live and built up. I wrote and recorded the themes to a rhythm track I build up using Alix\'s punching bags and heavy bags, and Sammy Stewart\'s voice using either the acoustic or Rhoades piano. Then Dj, Paul and I played live to that track.
Later Buckethead  added guitar and I added synths and the Theremin.
More of Alix\'s interview with Sammy Stewart was then woven into the music.
Sammy\'s story is fascinating. He survived harrowing encounters with death squads during the Liberian civil war. If you saw the film "Blood Diamond" you know a taste of that situation. He became a member of the Liberian olympic boxing team and flyweight champ of his country and moved later to the US and became a pro. Alix and I are working on a full recording of that interview that inclues his whole story, not just some of the boxing stuff used on the record.

Yes Alix\'s movie, the Mark of Cain was used as a basis for the character Viggo plays in the film " Eastern Promises". Thats is the connection.

Hey, Travis!

Just read you used the new Prophet on this CD. Wanted to buy it first without testing but then heard of some major problems in German synthesizer boards. How is this machine compared to the old one? And did you encounter any software crashes or other problems while recording?

Got the CDs and shirts yesterday and listened to the album several times since then. It\'s really great - they way you built up rhythms with the samples, the little tricks that are hidden between the lines and some moments that carry bits of "Chicken Noodles" and Thanatopsis with them. Nice work and a true inspiration!

I\'m am really digging the conception and captivated by the depth and movement of  each peice...as Running After Deer moves us through Sammy\'s story!

About the Prophet, I did have problem with the early software but Dave Smith dug in and worked all the problems out in software revisions for me with in a few days of my complainants. No thats customer service.

Travis, I haven\'t been around for a while, but am still reading and as you know picking up CDs here & there. I want you to know how much I enjoyed this one! Very eclectic!
