Greetings to thee, most esteemed forum visitors.

My philosophy is that justice & morality should be regarded as the center of civilization, morality stands before most aspects of society. For example; before you teach someone about self-defense, it is better to first teach that person about morality.

This is also regarding spiritual enlightenment.

Before teaching someone about spiritual enlightenment, it is better to first teach that person about morality. Basically it is very important to understand the difference between morally-correct & morally-incorrect, true morality condems morally-incorrect motives and proposes morally-correct intentions.

Retributive justice is morally-correct but oppressive law is morally-incorrect.

I am convinced justice & morality is the center of civilization, when society acts without justice & morality they can become uncivilized unlike anyother beast. But when society is perfected by justice & morality, only then may society be considered more civilized than other animal dominions.

The right of  justice should be stronger than the right of money.

Best regards,
Alex.

Just so i know where you\'re coming from could you please tell me if the 3000 children that were murdered today in their mothers womb is moral or immoral? Oh yea and what about the 3000 children murdered yesterday and the 3000 children that will be murdered tomorrow.

Some people would argue that morality and spirituality should be taught hand-in-hand, since they can be argued to have come from the same place.

Otherwise, where did our sense of morality come from? Why do you feel something is inherently wrong?
Aquabot is sooooo gross.

Logics my friend.

There is no evil or good, there is only incompetence or excellence. Neglectful people can be considered as evil because they don\'t understand logics that much, intelligent people can be considered as good because they understand the difference between morally-incorrect & morally-correct.

It\'s all about moral education.

This really has to be taught to the general public, morality will indirectly bring enlightenment. So basically there is no need to excel others in spirituality, because spirituality eventually evolves from morality.

Basically morality stands before so many aspects of society.

as a non believer in any diety id still like to consider myself a moral person. and i get my moral compass from common sense. take homosexuality as an example.. i find it immoral because it serves no purpose other than selfish hedonism.

whitewolf

Quoteother than selfish hedonism.

That\'s a hasty generalization, isn\'t it better to generalise hetero sexuals, bi sexuals & homo sexuals as being people who base their life upon sex ?

Otherwise I am just Hetero is that understood.

WHO really defines morality....a society.  :-/
The definitions vary too much for it to be a basis of "civilization" and justice to one society certainly may not seem \'just\' to the next...one on the planet.

many civilizations have been destroyed...and oppressed...by \'morality\'....
those who tended and gathered...hunt for what they needed...different cultures...different societies...different beliefs...
The American Indian, many lost civilizations...and newly discovered primitaves...being forced to abide by 21 st century morality. for "their own good"  :P
Who\'s justice?

I believe before someone is taught self-defense they should be taught to be selfless...appreciate differences, and the beauty and horror of life.
Could these be the core of a civil society?

I ask again...WHO defines morality?

Life is a circle...i feel more that yin/yang is the justice.

ZQ, why don\'t you read a dictionary and do some research about logics & formal fallacy.

Then we will continue this conversation.

Hiya! well...i know what i believe and i don\'t agree...totally with you. That IS ok  :) I\'ve done my share of reading. Like i said...a civil society...appreciates differences. I do not think our conversation will continue considering the tone of your suggestion. Thank you!  :)

 reading material for you  :)

Thank you ZQ.

Then I will render the structure of this argument between us as invalid due to a mistake in your reasoning, your error has to do with issues of rational inference that occur in natural language which are broader than can be represented by the symbols used in formal logic.

Your flaw in argumentation came from confusing morality for a perpetrator.

That\'s an informal fallacy.

Happy me...i get lucky reply #13. ...if you have some sort of actual reading material you\'d like me to see then fine...i gave you mine...I read it all BEFORE i made my post.
Your quick response pray tell ... i hardly think you took the time to open it up.  Fine...it\'s your choice...just as i\'ve made mine. You won\'t force me  or intimidate me into agreeing with you...ha! Morality and Justice...ok...in your world i misbehave  :)

well i must apologize that i didnt\' see your reading material before.
We may be saying allot of the same things...but i need to know more about YOUR definition of morality...

I personally question the morality of many "rational" people...and that is how i formed my opinion....rational people have destroyed beautiful things...for the sake of morality..."be like me...behave" come on that is NUTS!

I see you live in europe...and right there...quite possibly see morality to some degrees differently.

Well morality for me all began with my Taiwanese martial arts teacher.

Later on I forgot all about it, but when I learned how much negativity some people have I turned back to martial morality.

I studied about morality & virtues for years.

This moral philosophy in history started approximate with Socrates, Plato & Aristoteles, surely Aristoteles is a wise philosopher but to me Aristoteles contradicts himself in some issues.

What you can do is read; Buddhism, Confusianism, Tauism, Socrates, Plato, Aristoteles & logics.

Most educative article I know is Virtues & Values;
