Ordered! :D

EDIT* How do I get the download version? I got an email from PayPal as a receipt and one that says this:
"Greetings Alex Richings! Thanks very much for your purchase! More specifically, thank you for buying:

  Album: Slaughterhouse on the Prairie
Package: Slaughterhouse on the Prairie Re-press Pre-order

For information about shipping and returns, please see:

http://buckethead.bandcamp.com/policies

For help with your order (e.g., it hasn\'t arrived, or arrived damaged), click here. If you want to contact Buckethead for any other reason, please click here.

Here is the page where this order was placed:

Thanks again for your support,
Buckethead"

Am I missing something obvious? ???

Looks like there was a problem with the Prairie linked download. It\'s fixed now and Diamond was OK. Email me at tdrs@tdrsmusic.com and I\'ll email you a code to get your download. That goes for anybody else that had a problem. So far only 3 people have tried so we caught this early. Thanks for the heads up. Any one else having a problem, let me know as soon as you can.

I\'m definitely preordering both since I voted for both. I\'m choosing to get both the cds rather than ISOT for my birthday. I think its a good decision.  :)

Looks like 90 percent of the people who voted didn\'t understand it was a pledge to purchase. Perhaps I didn\'t make that clear. Just voting doesn\'t do any good.
So far after a week we only have 15 and 9 purchases for the two. I don\'t feel comfortable holding peoples money for too long before I can deliver a product.
At this rate it will take months and perhaps longer since the most enthusiastic will have already participated.
I hate to disappoint those that really wanted this to happen so I may continue but perhaps for a limited time.
I want to give those that voted a chance to truly evaluate their intentions, I understand it was easy to vote and times are tough and perhaps an anonymous poll was not the best way to do this.  But, also I have a dilemma  about redistributing those that purchased money back and do so before the number, though far short of repressing, become so big as to be a banking and booking nightmare.

So, I\'ll give this a bit more of a chance but I may have to come up with an alternative way to make this happen.

There are at least two more people on TK have said they\'ll be buying next week... I\'ll have to remind them just to be sure, though. ::)

I would recommend allowing a button for pre-order with all the details put on the main Buckethead page so more people will see it. I reckon a lot of people who want it/are checking up on it may just see \'Sold Out\' and leave. With a \'Pre-order Here\' button, you might see a bit of a surge in sales.

Am I right in thinking Crime Slunk Scene had a similar process? How long did that take?

Fair enough Travis, well explained and thanks for keeping us posted on the matter. Hopefully, we\'ll start to see more voters actually buying over the next few dys or so. If not though I totally understand why it might be best to close this down early and pursue an alternative.

These albums are currently sold out. A repress would be the action of having more/new copies of them printed for fresh demand.

Post by: Travis on April 09, 2010, 04:37:44 pm
I\'m afraid it\'s been at the same number for a week because no one has purchased either re-pressing in that time. I fear the poll was meaningless. I\'m willing to let it ride for a while but as soon as I get a few people who\'s patience is at an end and want their money back, I\'ll pull the plug on it. I can\'t take peoples money and hold it for that long.

I posted the sale on the 20th of last month I think. So far we have about 20 orders for each CD but it\'s come to a complete halt.  I\'ll let it ride till the 20th of this month and see what\'s happened, if it looks like there is progress, I\'ll let it ride otherwise I can only assume there just isn\'t enough interest in a re-pressing right now and we will wait till there is more interest to try again.

^Right...
I keep posting updates from here at .TK, but I don\'t know if it\'s had any effect other than what\'s already happened.

I\'ve put a post up on TK now, and I will also go round YouTube and leave comments on the SotP/ARDitR videos, even though I\'ll probably get told off for Spamming... :-/

I hope this does get re-pressed soon. From the download it\'s a brilliant album and I\'d love to have it in my CD player. ;D

EDIT:
I\'ve just posted about 30 links to the Bandcamp page on both SotP and ARDitR videos. I posted this:

If you want to buy this CD, support Buckethead and pre-order a re-pressing by going here:
buckethead.bandcamp . com/album/a-real-diamond-in-the-rough
You\'ll also get a FREE download of the album while you wait for it to be pressed.
Honestly, this ISN\'T SPAM!

Hope it gets some views before getting flagged.

EDIT II: The thread concerning this on TK has now been stickied to the top of the board. ;D Hopefully it will get more traffic!

This is too bad.  Not only for those of us who did follow through but especialy for all the effort Travis went through to get it all together, especially after all the requests there were to have them repressed.

I am not missing my money as of yet, Travis, so whatever you decide to do is fine by me.

So there it is. The poll, pre-order and possibility of a repress have passed.
This has really irritated me.
I don\'t know if it\'s because people didn\'t realise they were pledging to buy the download or they just voted for no reason, but I was certain we were going to get this repressed when 170 votes came in.
You can keep my money for as long as you need to, Travis. I got a high-quality download out of it at least, and I\'m not missing it.

Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order
Post by: Travis on April 21, 2010, 03:33:47 pm
I\'m stuck in the middle now. There appears no good resolution. Wait for who knows how long or refund 40 orders, a pain at best. I would rather err on the side that gets these repressed. So, I\'m going to let this ride another month in hopes that real progress can be made. However, I may just be digging a bigger hole for myself and making it harder to resolve. So, I posted an update on the repress page.
http://tdrsmusic.com/repress.php
I\'m open to suggestions and any feedback from those that have already purchased. Let me know how long you are willing to wait or if you have had enough, let me know that too.

Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order
Post by: chickentrain on May 23, 2010, 06:10:42 am
I\'ve just finished reading through all the pages of this thread. Earlier, I listened to clips of both albums, and I would honestly like to pre-order both. One of the posts you made, Travis, stated that you would let this go another month (from around April 20th). Does that mean it\'s too late to pre-order these anymore?

I\'m a CD-only guy, so I would really like to get physical copies of these albums. I don\'t mind listening to the downloads in the mean time. I also don\'t mind waiting an eternity to get the actual CDs.

I\'ve got some cash at the moment, and my birthday is coming up, so I figure I could pre-order these as a birthday present to myself. I would also like to order Shadows Between the Sky and Iconography. A couple quick questions:

1) If I pre-order ARDITR and SOTP and order Shadows and Iconography all on the same order, will Shadows and Iconography be shipped to me separately so that I can get them before the pre-orders finally go through?

2) Is the Shadows/Iconography combo purchase physically two separate CDs, or are they merged into some sort of combination jewel case?

Thanks for any answers! :)

EDIT: For question 2, I meant to ask are they two separate CASES. (I assume they are two different physical discs, or are they?)
Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order
Post by: Alex R on May 23, 2010, 02:38:48 pm
1. No, you\'ll get the CDs separately, then when Diamond and SotP are back in stock they will then be shipped.

2. Yes, the Shadows and Iconography are two separate cases, two discs. It would be just like buying any other two albums in the same order.

Now for something that will disappoint you all. :-/

I found out after my previous post that the pre-order is done through bandcamp, and it appears bandcamp only takes PayPal or credit card. I can\'t do either of those. I typically pay for stuff with money order. :(
Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order

You should sign up for PayPal. It\'s probably the safest and easiest way to send money online.
Although it is always a good idea to be scrutinising of online money things, PayPal can certainly be trusted.

QuoteAlthough it is always a good idea to be scrutinising of online money things, PayPal can certainly be trusted.
That\'s what they said about Facebook, yet I still made a fake account with no true information about me. Lo and behold, months later, Facebook is considered to be stabbing its users in the back with privacy issues. Now I say to all my friends who thought I was overly paranoid, "told you so." Score 1 for chickentrain. ;) :P
Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order

I don\'t even have a Facebook account. Why would I want to be stalked by someone claiming to be a friend?
But really, I think if PayPal had any privacy issues, they\'d get patched almost instantly. A few leaked photos on Facebook is a lot less serious than 2 million people\'s bank details.
Maybe if you ask Travis he could sort out an alternate payment method... I wouldn\'t count on it though. It\'s probably a lot of hassle to set up.
Title: Re: Diamond and Prairie re-press pre-order

Yeah, I understand.

As far as the off-topic Facebook conversation, I didn\'t have an account either until my friend kept asking me to make one. After making it and using the site for a few days, I immediately told him how useless that site is and that e-mail or phones are much more convenient. Therefore, I never actually use the fake account I set up.

That\'s exactly what I was thinking earlier. I could add 2 extra albums to my cart when checking out, and put a comment on the order that those two are actually just placeholders for the pre-orders. Then I could still checkout with money order. 8)

I\'m listening to Slaughterhouse On the Prairie, and I love it. I think it\'s every bit as strong as Pepper\'s Ghost, Decoding the Tomb, Albino Slug, Elephant Man, Inbred, Crime Slunk, etc.

It\'s a real shame this album is out of print because it\'s becoming one of my favorites. :(

Exactly. I could just make the money order out for the extra $18 or $16.50 per CD and put in my order notes that it\'s for Slaughterhouse, etc.

However you work it out, you need these albums.
Diamond is possibly one of my favourites, after Electric Tears and Inbred Mountain, SotP is brilliant as well, it\'s like a mix between Crime Slunk Scene and the more conventional side of ISOT.

$15 well spent on that download... I really want the CD in my collection!

Thanks to the bandcamp site, I know what you\'re saying.

I find I favor Slaughterhouse more than Diamond because it\'s along the lines of Pepper\'s/Decoding/Albino/etc. I\'ve also recently listened to Crime Slunk, and I like that one a lot now, too. I do like Diamond, but I prefer the hard rock sound of Slaughterhouse.

Unfortunately, we\'re still at least 50 more orders away on both albums before Travis said he might pitch in the money for the remaining 50 out of 150 orders. :\'(

OK. I\'ve added an option to purchase the re-press from the regular order form. You can select "sending payment" if you like. Also, it gives those that don\'t need or want the download another payment option (there is no free download with this option). The order buttons can be found on the re-press page from the link above.

The quote above from page one of this thread sums up my feelings exactly.

I\'ve not only made the order online, but I\'ve already mailed my money order for both Diamond and Slaughterhouse on the Prairie. Thanks, Travis! ;D

Just a little FYI: When checking out, the cart listed "Diamond re-press," but it listed the Prairie re-press as just "Prairie." I don\'t want this to be confusing to TDRS, so I\'m just letting you know it didn\'t say "re-press" after the Prairie portion of my order.

Also, Alex, you\'re right about Diamond. I\'m listening to it again on bandcamp, and I forgot it was this good.

Thanks again, Travis. Thanks to everyone who made him notice this thread! :D

I\'m a big fan of Broken Mirror. It starts out with a riff that sounds like a variation of one present on one of Buckethead\'s other albums, but I can\'t remember which particular track or album. Nonetheless, it\'s awesome. Like you said, the whole album is great.

It has been slow. I just adjusted the numbers to include a few orders from the regular order form that weren\'t included before. Also I had a couple of requests for refunds, not too bad considering how long it\'s taking. So the latest numbers are now posted. We still need another 30 to order.

I still can\'t believe how long its actually taking.
Surely there\'s loads of people who want these CDs... Do you get stats from albums you sell via iTunes? Is there a way to say there\'s a CD preorder on the iTunes page?

This is taking a while::). Still, I\'m in til it\'s achieved or voided (hopefully, the latter will not really be considered as an option due to the progression into the numbers we need that\'s been reached).

Thanks for the update Travis. Hasn\'t moved much huh? I\'d hate to see the plug pulled on this but would understand if that was the proactive measure taken. I\'d still say keep my money, if that was to be the case, as tribute/donation to Buckethead and yourself, as well as, of course, payment for .Flac audio files of these albums already recieved and downloaded. 8)

Hi Travis,

I am fairly new to the TDRS Music site, so I wasn't around when the CD re-press vote occurred for these titles, but I would be willing to place a pre-order for "Slaughterhouse on the Prairie" and/or "A Real Diamond In The Rough" via the Bandcamp page this week if it would help to guarantee the re-pressing.

Please let me know if my purchases would help the cause or if the pre-orders are still too low to justify a re-press. I prefer purchasing CDs versus music downloads whenever a CD version is available.

P.S. I received the CDs today I ordered last Friday, wow, talk about quick service and shipping! Thanks!  ;D

If you go here and pre-order you\'ll get the download in whatever format you like, and then you\'ll have the CD posted to you when it is repressed. On this page you can order them and also see the current numbers of CDs sold.

http://tdrsmusic.com/repress.php

But there is no guarantee they\'ll be repressed in the near future, but if there is any chance of it we need as many pre-orders and downloads as possible.
Tell your friends!
Currently it\'s at
Slaughterhouse on the Prairie sold so far: 44.
A Real Diamond in the Rough sold so far: 54.

Yes, the more sold will help the cause.

Are the FLAC downloads for the "Slaughterhouse on the Prairie" and "A Real Diamond In The Rough" downloads being offered in 16-bit or 24-bit? Looking to burn to CD, so the 16-bit would work for me.

The Bandcamp music was uploaded from the CD\'s so they are 16 bit.

My pre-orders are in for both of the CDs. The download and burning of the FLAC files to CD went very smooth. Thanks!

someone over at Buckethead.tk discovered ION Records was selling a copy of Prairie for 99 dollars plus 2 dollars shipping on Amazon

Buckethead would not be pleased  >:(

Travis is there any way you can get that listing taken down?

I notice the Repress page has been updated, and the CDs are getting done.
This is great news!
Thanks again, Travis, as well as everyone involved who kept to their word and bought it.
I\'m sure they\'ll sell again once they are back in real stock.

I know I haven\'t been on in a long time, but I\'m picking up on a rumor that Slaughterhouse and Diamond are being released now. I was lurking around in the TDRS store, and I noticed it looks like they\'re both in stock. They\'re also missing from bandcamp. I\'m glad I put my money in for both! :D :D :D

EDIT: The wait was no sweat at all!!
