Title: Boo Hoo?
Post by: chickentrain on May 13, 2010, 01:34:58 am
Me. That\'s who.

I\'ve been debating whether I should make this thread. Feel free to make fun of me. ;)

So, I\'m sitting at my computer early this morning. I\'m talking real early. I don\'t quite remember the time, but it\'s something around 12:30 to 1:30 AM. I pop in my Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot CD and put on my headphones.

Before the CD arrived this past weekend and before I even ordered it, I had listened to all of the tracks on YouTube. I remember that I thought the track "Sail On Soothsayer" was beautiful when I listened to the album on YouTube, so I decide to listen to that track.

I double click the track name in Windows Media Player, and I sit back in my chair and close my eyes. No one\'s awake at my house. It\'s freakin\' 1:00 AM.

I\'m totally relaxed at this point, and I\'m really into the song. About halfway through, I start getting choked up. I\'m thinking, "wtf?" I\'m not the type to cry. A single tear rolls down my cheek to my lip.

Does this make me weird?

Aunt Suzie does that to me and I am not someone that cries generally.  So if it makes you weird, I am also weird.

Nah... Decoding is definitely way up there! Great moods and vibes throughout. It\'s almost a greatest hits in and of itself.

Definitely does not make you weird. You\'re just another good Buckethead fan. :D

There\'s testament to all those who think that Buckethead is just another shredder.

So much emotion....

Thanks for the support, everyone. :)

When I heard Buckethead\'s music for the first time a couple weeks ago, I liked it because of the incredible riffs he comes up with. I never would have thought he would also create the most beautiful, peaceful, equally incredible, softer tracks, too.

As I stated in another post, I just ordered Colma and Electric Tears on Tuesday. Although I don\'t have them yet, I\'ve listened to most of the tracks online. Tracks like Padmasana, Whitewash, and the aforementioned Sail On Soothsayer (from Tomb of Bansheebot) are just so emotional. I\'ve never felt this much emotion from any other artist before. My hat is off to you, Buckethead. Thanks for making masterpieces. (Happy birthday, too!)

Raw talent will always make me cry, there\'s nothing more beautiful. Tears of joy!

Electric Tears and Datura (the song not the drug/poison) hit the spot pretty good, I dunno I love his calm soothing songs, thats why I bought Colma and Electric Tears. Occasionally they put me to sleep at night. I keep dreaming of a tour where he will play through whitewash and some of the old calm stuff.

P.S. ARDITR and Shadows Between the Sky have some tear jerkers too

I agree that Buckethead definitely has talent, Jordanatron, but I think it\'s the fact that he so well translates emotions to song using his talent that really gets me. I\'ve never heard anything so meaningful in the form of music.

Thanks for the album suggestions, Trev_dog. Unfortunately, I can\'t spend the money at the moment. :-/

At least someone cool made you cry.  I saw LeAnn Rimes in concert and her voice had me choked up at one point.
