^Well said! Listening to Big B and being a fan brings me a tremendous ammount of joy.

I\'m thinking that it must just be an announcement that he wont be touring or in the studio for a while. Our boy deserves break. I REALLY hope it is nothing more than that.

Huh?  I think people are reading WAY too much into this.  I did not read it as an announcement of his retirement at all.  I think he was just trying to excuse away how long Bucketheadland has gone without an update.

well, since Buckethead is getting some animatronic parts replaced, there could be many reasons:

1) he could be sick, and is needing rest.

2) he needs to upgrade his costume, maybe trying to find his old KFC bucket again.

3) he wants to upgrade his sexy les paul yet again.

4) he is on the way to plan a world tour.

5) he is planning to reunite the Deli Creeps.

6) he needs to get new guitar equipment.

7) he is thinking of releasing his Disneyland album

8) he is thinking of working with Serj again to make another Enter the Chicken album (think about the time span between Cuckoo Clocks and Enter the Chicken: 18 months).

just some possibilities :)
remember, its a new decade.

k, i\'ll go.

Buckethead has been busy working on something wonderful and cool - but of course, what else would he be doing?  Anyhow, then, something came up - with the animatronic parts and such - and he had to take a break.  The first thing he did was let us know he appreciates us :) - and since it will take longer to finish what he was busy with, he wanted to let us know, so we won\'t worry :)

Never fear! More wonderful and cool stuff to come!

There\'s my take.

I\'d say he\'s fine besides running himself on empty. He probably just needs some well deserved time off. And I guarantee that if he doesn\'t record for awhile he\'ll just explode with ideas when he does again, so i think all is well.

I\'ll choose the website theory. No real changes other that the occasional splash page for a long time, perhaps he will finally introduce a website that provides more info to his fans. Bucketheadland.com was cool, but way overdue for an overhaul.

Some might remember in 2001 when he had major problems with stomach ulcers... maybe this is something similar.  Either right after the ulcers or during his bout with the dreaded blood holes he released Somewhere over the Slaughterhouse which was recorded in a kitchen.  In that recording I cant hear in his work the pain he was going through.  Months later he released Funnel Weaver which sounds like he recorded it at home.  Strange record for him cus there are very little solos through out the whole recording.

I guess what I\'m getting at is that if he is going through some sort of health issue we might get some really strange and different recordings from him.  I would love to hear some stuff with p-sticks again or with Extrakd.

many of us like the way we view him; with his mask on!.. so maybe next time you have some information about his toe nail clippings and when he got his hair cut, and what kinda car he drives.. maybe sit on it a while.

@Alex--The Goose

Back in 2001 I did not know anything about Buckethead but I read on a danish website that GNR had to cancel their Europe tour because of Buckethead´s severe internal bleedings.

The website and article on danish: http://gaffa.dk/nyhed/424

In a statement issued today, states among other things: "It is with great regret that I must announce that Guns N \'Roses scheduled June tour in Europe have been canceled. Our lead guitarist Buckethead has been under intensive medical therapy to physicians have been able to determine the cause of his internal bleeding. The band\'s management are now waiting for a medical prognosis of the disease duration "

^^This is a quote from the article.

so ur saying ur knowledge on things that u have no idea about make u come to these sort of conclusions.

sure i grant the opinion and i acknowledge the fact that his last tour was a bit cruddy.. but u have to take into account his personal life.. of swhich, let me remind u, no one has an idea of..

this last tour we saw bucket slip quite a bit on notes.. but hes human and his website update proves this so..

Dude - with fans like you it's no wonder that Big B needs some time off. People that act like you are not wanted at a show, so next time Buckethead tours why don't you just stay home, listen to your American Idol greatest hits cd and whine and cry until your mother changes your diaper.

If Buckethead has a health problem then my thoughts and positive vibes go out to him, if he is updating the website then cool, I can't wait to see it. If being a fan and feeling emotion and being appreciative of what Buckethead has given us is what you call "gay", then I must be flaming (and proud of it!).

btw - the door is right over there, don\'t let it hit you in the ass.

What in their post implies that the poster is gay?  And why do you post that as though it would be an insult anyway?  I certainly hope tdrs is a site that welcomes people regardless of sexual orientation.  I know I do.  This is a very friendly board and we don\'t need you coming here and being a jerk.  Learn to post with respect or learn not to post at all.

BelieveintheBucket - maybe time to change your handle...you\'re clearly a troll.

You people read into stuff too much....we can hope and we can dream, but no one knows what\'s happening \'cept Bucket and his best cronies...

Let\'s leave it at that shall we? And if he is in poor health, we send our good vibes as Duckhead stated earlier.

If he\'s taking a break - well, damn...good for him...he\'s already released more than 10 bands in their lifetimes...perspective....

Cheers to Buckethead!!!!!

BelieveintheBucket, where do you come up with this crap? How can you honestly believe that Buckethead is dead? Then why did Bootsy make a post on Twitter stating that he was working on a track for a new Buckethead album?

Health problems? Who knows. Could be a freaking leg cramp for all we know. If he in serious, serious condition, there would be a bigger clue than just a change to the main page on Bucketheadland.

If he wanted his fans to know something had happened to him, he would\'ve stated what was in fact wrong with him, or someone else would have made a post about it. Big D, Psticks, Travis, Bootsy. He has connections now to people who have common internet usage. If he were in serious trouble, SOMEONE would have let us know. And the thing is, NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING ABOUT BUCKETHEAD\'S HEALTH OTHER THAN HIM. This can only mean that either it is something minor or that he is simply stirring the pot.

Either way, if Buckethead ever hears about this conversation, I\'m sure he\'ll laugh at the fact that you think he\'s dead. Buckethead is in no serious position at all. Keep stupid thoughts like that to yourself please.

All it takes is one turd to eff up the punchbowl of good vibes.

Maybe someone spiked it and indulged a little too much before sitting down in front  of their keyboard to type a load of crap into their browser. The last tour sucked? Whatever. Ymmv. Etc...

Buckethead, If you read this, I hope you are well and able to vanquish Slip Disc to the nether regions in the near future!

In great stead, I scratch my head! ;D

Great video ella my dear,
Adding to our rhyming cheer.

Stump and me have set the sail,
To get this thread to derail.

C\'mon peeps at night or day,
Let\'s have fun so post
away.

Laters Gators...

O yes the Duck, quite full of pluck
and the Muppets are great, to take Ella\'s bait
but what of Buckethead\'s woe, and Slip Disc his foe!
for with his vacation, there is a relation
Will an influx of fun make the park run?
A Herculean task for the man behind the "mask"?
If you call it a riddle I really can\'t quibble
We\'ll see as we can, what is the plan, Stan...

The Muppets and ella_mental:
What a perfect combination.
Bringing smiles, once again,
to the TDRS nation.

Hey there peeps!
I know they are sheeps,
But I like pronouncing words wrong
And I thought it was a good song.

Sweet verses there, I like what you\'ve said
with no hesitation to continue this thread.

We all here think Buckethead\'s off the charts
we\'re wishing well with his animatronic parts.

And eating chicken noodle soup and such
relaxing to the feel of Big D\'s touch.

In search of a fix for this lone sal bug
let\'s take a ride on a carpal tunnel slug.

Or dive with Aquabot deep in the dark
swimming along side a goblin shark.

Flying around on Giant Robot\'s back
preparing for a cyborg slunk attack.

Random killings with Max Bob on mic
being buried alive by cobra strike.

And I always have fun getting real bloody
on the forgotten trail with post office buddy.

Gather your friends Tom, Joe and Betty
and make gory head stumps with a machete.

Or if you really want to hoot, howl and romp
do it twice with a sledge at the hog bitch stomp.

Ya know what ride I want the most is?
the worm hole inside Thanatopsis.

Whatever B needs I\'ll give my severed hand
as thanks for taking me to Bucketheadland.

(well, well, well - yeah Duck is a dork
it\'s time to stick me with a fork) :P

O Buckethead, Buckethead
Wherefore art thou Buckethead!
While you replace some parts
Us fans are wandering around the park
Collecting our lost limbs
And waiting for the next ride to begin.

O this may be silly, but is it really?
Duckhead returned and unleashed a dilly!
to rhyme is sublime, if I err I don\'t care
I hope The Bucketed One returns in great repair
And hope that he remains very fascile
to set up shop in Leatherface\'s Castle
or maybe he already worked his nubs to the bone
cleaning  the coops and tending the slaughter zone
So store up the straw, the saw and the slaw
and see what awaits when the roosters call
for we should follow the sound of the chicken
without those clucks the plot surely would thicken
whats down the road is yet to be knowed
 ;D ;)

Silliness continued:

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Buckethead shall ne\'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember\'d;
We few, we happy few, we band of Bucket-bots;
For the Bot to-day that sheds his blood with Buckethead
Shall be my Bot; be he ne\'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And people \'round the globe, now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not in Bucketheadland,

Must\'ve been a Home Run Derby contusion
Step on up, swing for the fence or the wall
Or maybe just consult your magic 8 ball

Well, maybe. But most posters here exercise better manners and get disappointed when having to suffer with bunch negative dreck. Your can go anywhere for that.

I'll tell you what happened Mr Slunk Lord
the Drama Llama was sewing seeds of discord  ::)

Some posts got mean and some were snarky
this is a place for fun, not malarkey  :-/

And BitB it was not very cool
to make fun of Nuff, I pity the fool! >:(

And demanding of B a big comeback?
all I could think was "what's up with that" :o

If you think he's dead that's fine but it's jive
cause everyone else here knows he's alive ;)

I know that sometimes I can be wrong
but I'd like to think we can all get along.   ;D
