Title: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on February 26, 2007, 06:21:01 pm
Sorry for starting yet another insearchof Thread. I just wanted this to be easy to find and I\'ll sticky it for a while.

I want to update everyone about where we are at as of now and hit a few important points about this unusual offering.

There has been an incredible response to this. We have been just overwhelmed. The story of the CD set hit the wires and it was on The Rollingstone\'s web page, Blabbermouth and even NPR\'s Wait, Wait, Don\'t Tell Me did a question about Buckethead Sunday.

So I\'m guess I\'m asking everyone who has been waiting for their CD\'s to show up a little extra patience with us. My little operation has be in overtime, overdrive since Friday. we have been churning and churning and we have shipped lots of these. However, we are still trying to catch up to the people that have placed pre-orders.  The first that ordered should be seeing them in the mail at least domestically. Now that I can see how many we can do a day I expect to get all the pre-orders in the mail by the end of the week. I hope you all understand what a taxing and insane enterprise this has been. I have always tried to get orders out within a day of the end of a pre-order period, however I hope you understand the difficulties here and the few days delay that may result.

Since Peppers Ghost is due to be delivered here tomorrow ( yet another layer of complexity to an already insane task) those will ship with the insearch of set not much delayed then it would have been otherwise. Also as soon as the Crime Slunk repress sales hit 50, I reordered them. We will have them available as well and wherever possible I will try to ship all the orders combined so you get them at the same time ( sorry, no adjustments to shipping fees, If you prefer I can still ship separately, let me know : 0).

A lot of people asked for an autograph on their CD\'s. In so much as each and every one of these is personalized, it seemed redundant, also we would like the arm that did this to be preserved for finer things so sorry none will be autographed .

A couple of other things. All the assembly of these was done by hand. We made every effort to see that no mistakes were made. However, just in case you happen to get a set that has a problem, email me and I\'ll correct it right away. If you get a set that has one cover illustration upside down or something, I recommend keeping it. I\'m sure the guy that returned the airmail stamp with the airplane flying upside down regrets doing after it sold for millions.

Also. as you know, these are CDR\'s not CDs. These come with inherent problems. They are fragile, so you may wish to back them up on a computer or another set of CD\'s for everyday playing and keep your collectable pristine. CDR\'s are also finicky about playing in different CD players. If you experience skipping on a CD. don\'t panic, there may be nothing wrong with the CD, it\'s just a mismatch between your players laser and the laser that burned the CD. Try it in another player or computer CD ROM and see if it plays. If you can\'t resolve the problem, let me know.

Here a picture from over the weekend, It would have panned back but it\'s too scary.

Wow, now that\'s a lot of cd\'s!!  :o

Man, I can\'t even begin to imagine the amount of work and organization that it must take to pull something like this off, you have my everlasting gratitute and respect for doing this!

Also, this is some excellent news indeed. Not only is the "In Search of the" shipments being sent out, but Pepper\'s Ghost not far behind. Man, this is a sweet time to be a Buckethead fan, I\'ll tell you.  8)

So, let me see if I get this straight? When the Crime Slunk Scene pre-orders hit the 50 mark, you sent out for the first 50? And they will arrive at your place shortly? WOW! Excellent! Man, that makes me happy indeed. I am happy as a pig in you know what thanks to the whole "In Search..." and Pepper\'s Ghost deal naturally, but since I don\'t have Crime Slunk Scene, this makes me double.. no, triply happy.  ;D

Thanks a lot once again for the effort you put into this, I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate it. These are amazing times indeed, and you Travis and the rest of the people behind this major operation are what\'s causing all of it. THANK YOU!

PS. And don\'t worry about "In Search of the" being cd-r\'s.. as soon as I get my hands on these babies I will promptly mp3 them and keep them on both my computer and my mp3-player. The originals will be kept in a safe part of my collection, if I feel the need to listen to these outside of my trusty mp3-player, I\'ll just have to burn copies to listen to. I don\'t want to wear them out, that\'s for sure. DS.

So, once again. THANKS!

wowzers! that is some overdrive. Thanks for the update! Also do the repressings of Crime Slunk Scene have a diffrent cover or is it the same. Just wondering.
Thanks again for all the hard work you do.

From what I heard, the Crime Slunk Scene re-pressings will feature the same artwork as the original. I believe Travis said that they had too much other stuff to work with, so if people really wanted them to be re-pressed soon it would be done with the original cover.

Haven\'t heard anything about it in a while, but I\'m guessing with the "In Search of the" sets and the new Pepper\'s Ghost, that there just won\'t be any time to do any new covers.

Well, being as I ordered mine on the last day of pre-orders, I shall patiently be awaiting it, and the few other things I ordered.

Thanks alot Travis, for all the hard work you\'re putting in with this project. I\'m really looking forward to listening to this set.

I also pre-ordered on the last day (serves me right for not checking the site after pre-ordering Pepper\'s Ghost).  Travis, I totally understand that you can\'t get them all out on the same day.  I am simply thrilled to be getting a set and am very thankful for the opportunity.  It really is a great time for anyone that loves Buckethead\'s music.

thank you. Have ordered it now. Seeing the photo of the CD\'s, it looks like each sleave is plain white with a letter written on the side. I guess expecting a hand made cover for all 13 disc\'s is asking way too much
 ;D
Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Slunker on February 27, 2007, 11:21:14 am
In addition to the letter on the side, there\'s some scribbles on the front of the digipacks as well. There\'s the volume number (i.e. the letter "I" is vol. 1, "N" is vol. 2 and so on), as well as the number of what "version" you have on your set.

Also, there\'s usually a Buckethead face scribbled on each of the covers, while one random cd in the set having something different drawn on them.

The cd\'s are marked as the covers, without the Buckethead drawing.

I learned all this from the TK boards.  ;D

QuoteI thought the CSS preorders hit like 60?  Was there a bunch canceled?

No, from what I understand, the first 50 were re-pressed when they hit the 50 mark. Most likely this will mean that the other 50 will ship once it reaches the 100 mark. That\'s what I\'m guessing at least, but perhaps Travis can elaborate a bit on that.

No, it means when we hit 50 pre-sales I went ahead and repressed a whole bunch. Plenty for everyone now.

The enormity of the task involved in putting all these sets together really hit me when i saw the pic.

WoW. Keep up the hard work! Hopefully things won\'t be too crazy with todays schedualed shipment of Pre-Ordered Peppers Ghosts\'.

Yes, this is taxing to say the least. I have gotten a few reports of missing disc\'s, wrong numbers and duplicate disc\'s. You can imagine the task of keeping all this straight. So far just a few have had a problem. If you have a problem contact me, I\'ll get you fixed up right away.

Peppers Ghost will ship today.

Q: about the international orders:

did they go out in order of the invoice #´s , or do you put them aside and ship at once?

Excellent, I\'m anxiously looking forward to this one. This is actually the first new Buckethead album to be released since I started actively listening to his stuff, so it\'s a special one for me. I\'m going to be checking my mailbox every single day, that\'s for sure.

Also, with the "In Search of the" set arriving a little bit later, as is the Crime Slunk Scene re-pressing, this is going to be a really special time for me up ahead. The only thing that\'s bothering me is the wait. ;D

Still, I\'ve got all three Thanatopsis as well as the Deli Creeps cd with me now to keep me company, listening to Axiology as we speak and enjoying every bit of it. Deli Creeps are just awesome and Thanatopsis is out of this world good, I just love the stuff you and Buckethead come up with along with the overly competent drumming of Antoun. Just magnificent stuff!

So anyways, keep up the excellent work with everything, Travis! You\'re doing a kick ass job with all the orders at the moment, and a few minor hicups can happen, even to the best.

Thanks!

Yeah, it\'s all about the post count, I think it\'s once you pass 30 or something that you become a senior member but I\'m not sure.

I\'ve been a Buckethead fan since October last year, so that\'s kind of recently I\'d suppose.  :)

Yes Cooly, email me your invoice numbers, I\'ll credit you back for one of the orders. Don\'t worry we are behind enough that your order has probably not shipped. About international orders, we have been mixing both domestic and international orders while mailing. Any delay in getting your order has entirely to do with us being overwhelmed by the demand. But I would say we are coping pretty well considering. Again I ask for some special consideration on this one do to the massive effort involved in filling, packing and sending out all these. We are doing these in the order they came in. We will soon have all the pre-orders out, but we are still working on them.
If anyones patience is stretched to the breaking point, email me, I\'ll be happy to remedy your situation.

I couldn\'t agree more! I was listening to Thanatopsis albums all night long last night, and it was just heavenly! Those albums are definitely some of my favorite music at the moment, I just love the "jammy" feel of the songs. Buckethead rocks, we all know that, but Travis\' stuff is just unreal. I never knew you could rock like that on a keyboard.  8)

And ZQ, welcome to these boards as well!  ;D

Another massive mailing today.  Both domestic and international. Again we were just broad-sided by the demand. It\'s not just getting the mailing together, the demand outstripped the supply well before we could just get the pre-orders out. If your wondering where the hell is my pre-order set, you will probably see it in the next few days.  We still need one more blast to get us up to date and that should happen by mid-week. I appreciate everyones understanding about the time this project is taking to distribute. If you ordered after the 21st  you are probably looking at another week before yours is ready to ship. Again I offer anyone who can\'t wait a refund on their purchase, but if your willing to wait a bit we will get this to you as soon a humanly possible.  I\'ll keep you updated in this thread.

Hi,
I received yesterday the 13 cd, and I\'ve just finished to listened to tem... I\'m just a bit disapointed that we find the same song two time (on vol 7 (tk4) and on vol 11 (tk2)).  >:(

Moreover, there\'s some mystakes with the numbers of some discs. They are not corresponding to the number of the cover...
Strange !

Hmm, sounds like there was an error putting your discs together. As you can imaging putting hundreds of sets together , that\'s thousands of CD\'s, by hand, a moment of brain freeze and a mistake can happen. So far only two other people have reported a problem with missing or mixed up disc\'s. I have heard from some with messed up numbers and corrected mistakes on their covers but all of them have chosen to keep those as even more unique.

Any way sounds like the same disc was placed in your set twice. email me and I\'ll get you the missing disc.

Yea, I have a song repeat too, but it\'s kind of odd. Song 2.8 and 3.2 are the same for me (it has some kind of bell with low frequency noises). The weird thing is 3.2 is a couple seconds longer than 2.8.
Oh well, I got a unique copy I guess!

As of today all pre-orders of In Search Of have shipped. If you placed your order before Feb. 21 your order has been sent. Also, all pre-orders of Peppers Ghost and Crime Slunk have shipped as well as combination orders. Peppers and Crime Slunk are shipping on a regular basis, that is, you order it today, it ships tomorrow. If you paced an order for In Search Of the 21st or after, the first batch will ship at the end of this week and by the end of next week we hope to get to a place where we can ship orders on the set the day after they are placed. That all depends on demand of coarse but the way I gauge it as of now it looks good.

Travis, I have a question about ISOT. I have not ordered any of the volumes yet as I\'m waiting for the right financial time. Based on the initial and unexpected demand for ISOT, do you see these being around even longer than you first thought or maybe not as long?

Thanks,
Brian

ok, just a question (I think think it\'s just my lack of understanding the wording, sorry) I did in fact order ISOT well after the 21st, the 27th to be exact.  Anyways, I also ordered Pepper\'s Ghost at the same time.  So when you say the preordered combos have been shipped...does that mean both preordered, or one of the two preordered, cuz technically i preordered Pepper\'s Ghost but not ISOT...oh, and I live in Canada, so you could factor that in as well with some sort of reply, please and thank you.   ;D

I wish I could say for for certain but this is all new territory. For sure this will end but when I can\'t say. There are no plans to stop at the moment.

when I said the combo orders have shipped I meant the pre-order combos. as always here if you order something in combination with something that requires a wait, all items are held till that item is ready.

Thanks so much for the quick reply Travis...as you can see, this is only my 2nd post here...and unlike some of the people who browse but don\'t speak, I literally stumbled apon this awesome site the day before i ordered ISOT and Pepper\'s Ghost (the 26th).  As a relatively new serious Buckethead fan (I liked some music of Buckethead\'s before I became obsessed  ;D) I have to say I had no idea just how dedicated the fanbase was, and even more impressive to me, how dedicated you and the big guy are to your fans.  Major kudos to you and all in Bucketheadland, and here\'s to many more amazing albums, and many more dollars spent from my pocket to yours.  :P

I just yesterday worked up the courage to order the whole ISOT set, and Pepper\'s Ghost with it. I haven\'t pre-ordered anything (I should probably start, shouldn\'t I?).

So when can I and the other "late people" expect to get their hands on it?
Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on March 07, 2007, 06:41:11 pm
I know this is getting confusing. The pre-order period on everything is over.
We have stock on Crime Scene and Peppers, no waiting.
On the ISOT, all the people who pre-ordered before the release date of 2/21 have had their orders shipped. If you ordered before the 21st you either have your order or will get it any day. The last of those went out Monday. Any international orders will depend on travel time and customs. Between the 21st and this past weekend we were continually shipping orders, they went out based on the dates on the invoice.
Now the situation is, we are making these to order. If you ordered 2/21 or later you are in line to have your shipped out. We expect a big delivery at the end of this week, that will be most but not all orders to date. The following week we will do the same and hope we will be ahead of the demand and we will try to stay there as long as we can.

I\'m not sure I cleared anything up really, but I want to keep everyone up to date.

If anybody\'s patience is tested by the wait, email me, I\'ll give you a no questions asked refund on your order if it hasn\'t been shipped already.

That said, if your willing to wait your wait time will probably be 7 to 10 days from the date you placed your order. At least as of right now and that depends on the demand.

Travis,

Thanks for the incredible job you\'ve done on getting this out.  I got mine and Peppers Ghost in an unbelievably timely manner considering the amount of orders you must have had to deal with.

Very much appreciate your had work and dedication.

And, of course, a huge thank you to Buckethead for creating such a high quantity and quality of art for us.

There is a major mailing this weekend and Monday. Those that ordered between the 21st of Feb and March 1st will get theirs. Then around Midweek we will get hopefully everyone else up to date.

Do you  have any idea how long the whole set will be available? I\'ve got 1 volume but cant afford the entire set untill April 25th.

I wouldn\'t worry about it running out before April 25th. If memory serves me correctly, Travis said that this will last a while and that you can order like 2 a month and still be able to get the whole set. So, unless plans have changed I\'d say this will still be available come April 25th.

Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on March 11, 2007, 03:24:19 pm
It\'s not a question of how many do we have left. At this point they are being made to order. That\'s why you have to wait 7 to 10 days from time of order. As I said we hope to get ahead of orders this week and hope to be able to supply them for a while. I think what will happen is once we hit a certain benchmark, either a number or exhaustion than the production will end. However if you have bought a single volume we will continue to offer individual volumes to those that can give me an invoice number for an individual volume. So if you have a volume we won\'t cut you off from completing your set at least for a reasonable amount of time.
At the moment there are no plans to cease production.

Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on March 12, 2007, 05:32:49 pm
Lasted shipping information. Over the weekend we did another massive mailing.
All orders up to invoices dated March 3rd have been mailed out. So if your invoice has a date of the 3rd of March or before you either have your CD\'s or you can expect them soon. As always lower 48 stales about 3 to 5 days. International takes 7 to 14 days and anything can happen with your local customs so don\'t panic if it takes a while.

The next batch I hope will get us to the current date and that will be at the end of this week. We may even be in a situation were we have an inventory of these by the first of next week.

Well, if that\'s the case then I\'m in for a treat. I\'m only on disc 3 right now, and track 3 on that one was one of the best Buckethead tracks I\'ve heard in a long time. I just love some of the funky, groovy stuff that\'s on these babies! I\'m also amazed by the variation of them, you just get tossed between different sounds and styles when you least expect it.

Sure, In Search Of The cost a lot of money, but it was money well spent if you ask me. There\'s some insanely creative stuff on these discs, it\'s just mindblowing.

Once again, thank you Buckethead and Travis for giving me the opportunity to own this tremendous treasure!  8)

I only have Vol 4 at the moment (money was really tight for me) - getting ready to order the rest of the set though. I was wondering what to do - Travis said If I send my invoice number to him Bucket will create the rest of the set I already have.  I dont know if I should do this or order a full new set. If I order the rest of my set I was thinking I might not get a slip case box for them or a unique drawing on one, as other sets have. Its a good problem to have though :p
Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on March 15, 2007, 03:10:05 pm
That\'s no quite what I said. If the full set reaches the end of it production, we will continue to offer individual discs to those that have already ordered at least one.
As those that have ordered individual discs have noticed the numbers on the discs are not the same. We entertained the idea of keeping the numbers the same for people that ordered individual discs but that proved to be impossible to do.
So, we won\'t create the rest of the set for you but we won\'t cut you off after the full set reaches the end of it\'s production.

My email inbox has been slammed with inquiries about the In Search OF The CD\'s. I know some people don\'t see this forum so they are a bit in the dark as to what is going on. I\'ll do an email to everyone who might be waiting on their disc but I thought I would post here again just to keep current.

All orders for the CD\'s placed on or before the 3rd of March have shipped.
If you have an order invoice dated on or before that date, your order has either arrived or if your in the U.S. should arrive over the coarse of this week.

If you ordered internationally, this is a bit trickier. Your order has been sent but because of travel time and particularly customs, your wait could be quite a bit longer. So far we have only had the post office lose 1 order and that was in the U.S. so it may seem like forever but I\'m sure your order will eventually show.

Now the rest of you that have ordered from the 4th of March to the present.
These orderers are still being made. I realize some of your orders are approaching the two week wait i warned about on the order form. We were hoping to get everyones order up to the current date out this week but it\'s become just too big a task. It looks like we will have a mass mailing the first of next week. I plan on having enough sets to get everybody\'s order
out at that time. A few of you will have waited more than two weeks for your order. I don\'t want to test anybody\'s patience. As always, if your tired of waiting you can contact me for a no questions asked cancellation and refund.

Lastly I want to thank everyone for your patience, even to those that emailed me have been polite, understanding and only concerned that their order may have been lost. I understand completely and I appreciate everyone\'s concerns and if you still have question feel free to contact me.

If you ask me, I think the track on disc 13 is simply amazing! 45 minutes of just insane shredding and that hypnotic tambourine-esque beat, not forgetting that really cool "mellow" part in the middle of it. Great track, and the length of it only adds to it I think. It\'s not something you usually see, that\'s for sure.

WOw, got my set today and it sounds great and I\'m only on vol 1. The sound quality is amazing for a CD-R almost as good as a CD. The playing is great too. Track 2 on Vol 1 is some of Buckethead\'s best jamming out playing. I love the jazzy track 3 And the funky song 4... Loads of variety. I think I\'d be satisfied if it was just one disc... And there\'s still 12 and half to go...

I know EXACTLY what you mean here. Woo hoo! It arrived...and without customs charges!!
First off let me just say this about that. I am sooooo happy to own this set, it is well worth the moola$. Be patient bots, it took 4 weeks to get to the Great North Coop, which is normal for pkgs from the US.

Let me go out on a limb here... I think the conceptual layout of this set is an aural tapestry of Buckethead\'s life from crib to coop. It has a traumatic begining but then takes you on a wonderful ride with lots of shreiks. There were some scary moments on the ride where I had my head out of the tram and I could see the track and it looked like I\'d taken this ride before. One time I fell asleep and woke up on a totally different ride. Sometimes all I could smell was BBQ. When I got off I felt like getting some headcheese. Most freakiest part of all was that my "Vol 13" wedge kept giving me the \'NO DISC\' error. I\'ll have to talk to Travis about that later.

Can\'t wait to go INSEARCHOFTHE again!

Like Travis just said, e-mail him and I\'m sure he\'ll replace the broken/scratched cd with a new one. If I\'m not mistaken I read somewhere on this very site that if your cd arrives damaged, you\'ll get a new one free of charge.

So, e-mail Travis (tdrs@tdrsmusic.com) and I\'m sure it\'ll all work out.

Some good news and some bad news.

The postman just arrived and popped a card through the door. He isn\'t carrying the item as I need to goto the post office to pick it up. There\'s a customs charge of £21.84 (which is 42.91 US dollars).

the Good news: This has to be \'In Search Of\'. I just hope it survived the journey.

I might attempt to hagle. Claiming the item is 13 disc\'s written in the home by a friend worth 20 dollars and not 200 ;)

..my copy of 'In Search Of' arrived today. So I'm happy :D
..and no, there\'s was no way out of paying the tax - boo!

Disc 1 is good and the sound quality is good. For some bizarre reason I had preconceived ideas that the audio might sub par. But it's not. Just started playing disc 2, and the 1st track reminds of a certain Bob Dylan song with what sounds like a tambourine playing. Looking forward to hearing the rest.. So I'll catch you later..

I bought this for my brother\'s birthday. He\'s a pretty big buckethead fan...you think he\'ll be happy?

Oh, by the way, one of my friends said that he found "In Search Of The" on bittorrent. Thanks a lot to the jacka$$ who did that.

When the pre-orders reached 50, Travis went ahead and printed enough copies. All pre-orders have been sent and there\'s still enough Crime Slunk Scene to go around. So, it has been repressed and is currently back in stock even for those who didn\'t pre-order it.

Here's some details about the various discs that make up 'In Search Of The'

------------------------------------------------
Buckethead 'In Search Of The' Vol.1 'I'

Track 01 - 00:58 (note: atmospheric sounds)
Track 02 - 14:50 (note: Laidback, quite groovy. Good track)
Track 03 - 02:58 (note: The intro sounds slightly medieval)
Track 04 - 02:37 (note: Sounds experimental)
Track 05 - 00:44 (note: Good while it lasts. Sounds movie like)
Track 06 - 15:02 (note: Stacks of shredding going on here)
Track 07 - 01:49 (note: Sounds experimental)
Track 08 - 05:33 (note: Sounds experimental)

------------------------------------------------
Buckethead 'In Search Of The' Vol.2 'N'

Track 01 - 01:31 (note: Starts out good, and reminds me of a Bob Dylan track towards the end)
Track 02 - 10:51 (note: Laidback, quite groovy)
Track 03 - 03:02 (note: Starts with spooky church bells, followed by drums beats. Empty sounding)
Track 04 - 02:12 (note: Upbeat. Sounds experimental. Little guitar playing)
Track 05 - 15:50 (note: Laidback. Much guitar. Liked this track very much)
Track 06 - 03:18 (note: Sounds experimental. There's an organ sound and levels of distortion. Not really my thing)
Track 07 - 06:04 (note: Sounds experimental, with sounds of audio tape messing up. Not really my thing)
Track 08 - 02:15 (note: Sfi-Fi atmospheric sounds, with close up audio sfx near the end. Interesting )

------------------------------------------------
Buckethead 'In Search Of The' Vol.3 'S'

Track 01 - 14:54 (note: Funky sounding from the outset. Reminded me a little of Prince)
Track 02 - 02:18 (note: Starts with the sound of wobbly church bells. Close up audio sfx near the end)
Track 03 - 03:48 (note: Drums and Guitar being played under water)
Track 04 - 07:37 (note: Deep base  sounds with a guitar in the distance. Good track)
Track 05 - 04:30 (note: Opens with a beat that's almost heart beat. Sounds experimental )
Track 06 - 10:32 (note: Opens with drums and guitar. Reminds me of jazz music)

------------------------------------------------
Buckethead 'In Search Of The' Vol.4 'E'

Track 01 - 03:21 (note: Liad back drums n'guitars. )
Track 02 - 07:16 (note: High pitched. The best experiment track of the first 4 discs)
Track 03 - 09:02 (note: The intro sounds slightly medieval)
Track 04 - 03:31 (note: Interesting. Boom drums, sounds muffled.)
Track 05 - 05:26 (note: Deep bubbling. Could work in a film scene.)
Track 06 - 03:29 (note: Guitars and drums, good stuff)
Track 07 - 04:08 (note: Sounds experimental.)
Track 08 - 06:49 (note: Sounds experimental)

------------------------------------------------
I tend to view 4 sides to Buckethead's music:

1. Great guitar work, great drums and good tunes.
2. Funky. Some synths, possibly a drum machine.
3. Ideal for films. Atmospheric. Not as experimental as 4.
4. Sound FX, bleeps, and blips. Experimental. Hardcore.

I am definitely a category 1 person. I like category 2 too, and some of 3. 4 I find interesting, difficult to like.

Right on.  Really not a weak disc in the bunch. So many differents sounds.

Its a little overwhelming ( at least for me ) to digest all this new music. Its a good problem to have though.

Buckethead 'In Search Of The' Vol.13 'E'

Track 01 - 00:45 (note: The longest track on ISOT coming in at 45 minutes. Opens with a thudy beat.
35 seconds in and the same sound from Vol.2 Track 01 - 01 plays (bouncy Bob Dylan tambourine).
There's some experimental guitar playing over the top.
The bouncy Bob Dylan tambourine beat plays through the whole track.
Various guitar sounds play over the top. I'm not sure what to make of this track. At 45 minutes it's different.
Between 26:52 and 28:56 the guitar switches from noise to a mellow tune (these 2 minutes were my favourite).

If you were thinking of buying one 1 disc from ISOT, I wouldn't recommend 'In Search Of The' Vol.13 'E'. They should make 'In Search Of The' Vol.13 'E' FREE once all the other disc's have been brought. If you buy all 13 disc's, you do effectively get 'In Search Of The' Vol.13 'E' free anyway.

I have to admit, there's something about the 'Bob Dylan tambourine beat' that plays throughout that works really well.

Vol 5 'A' - Track 05 - 05:04 (note: Ideal for a film. Synth. I liked this track)
Vol 5 'A' - Track 08 - 02:56 (note: Opens with drums followed by a cool guitar sound. Slow. I love this track)

No problem.

Track 01 from Vol.2 'N' (of ISOT) reminds me of Bob Dylans\'s \'Rainy Day Woman\' from the album \'Blonde on Blonde\'. It\'s the same beat complete with the tambourine. The same beat re-appears on Track 01 Vol.13 'E' (of ISOT) and plays throughout the entire track for a whopping 45 minutes.

Just like to say thanks to everyone involved in making this amazing set.  I can\'t wait to get stuck into it.

For those who are still waiting don\'t panic, mine arrived today, in the UK, it took just over 4 weeks to get here.

Update to those waiting on orders placed after the 13th of March. We are going to start a large mail out today. It may take a few days to get them all out but if your invoice is dated after the 13th you can expect your order has shipped out in the next few days. I\'m not sure we will make it right up to date, that is if you ordered yesterday we may not quite have enough but the wait won\'t be the two weeks I posted as a warning on the order form.
I\'ll post here the dates of the invoice we have sent in the next few days. I\'ll also be emailing everyone who placed an order since the 13th with this up date.
I know there are still a few waiting since the last mailing for orders to arrive, I expect that these are all international orders and customs is slowing these down. I\'m seeing international orders arriving between 1 and 4 weeks, so if your in that two week to 4 week waiting, don\'t panic, they have all made it eventually so far.

I\'m pretty sure some of the regulars play on this album. There are a few songs that have real drums And as far as I know Bucket doesn\'t play drums. I\'m sure Pinchface or dan monti or maybe even brain and maybe others are on there somewhere.

" anonymental asked,  By the way, does anyone know if tdrsmusic gives you tracking info when they ship?"

As far as I know they do not, I think they use USPS priority.
Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on March 27, 2007, 11:33:01 pm
Yes, we ship US first class or priority mail. No tracking, trying to keep shipping costs down. The very rare times someone has a problem we take care of them right away.

I can\'t say how long the box set will be offered. For sure for a while longer but this is a limited edition and we may offer the music in another form  but the personalized edition will eventually end.

I think we will narrow the wait down considerably for those that are just ordering it though it may still be several days.

Well, I\'m happy to report that all orders for the In Search Of CD\'s as of this post have been mailed out. I\'m just going to sit here for 5 minutes and enjoy the moment.

Any orders that come in after this post will have about a week waiting for their order to ship.

As I have been saying previously, allow 3 to 5 days for delivery in the U.S. International orders will have to be patient from 1 to 4 weeks and allow for customs slow downs.

It bears repeating so thanks again Travis for all your work in getting this special project organized and distributed. It took a lot of work and it must have been pretty wild, but it\'s kind of a good problem to have too, yeah? I love that BH can create something so raw and to have it almost instantly in my hands and playing in my ears. It\'s as DIY as it gets.

My favorite tracks now are vol. 5 #1, and I have vol. 4 #4 and vol. 8 #5 on repeat. Song 4 on vol. 4 sounds like beatboxing. Does anyone know if that\'s sampled from somewhere, perhaps Kid Beyond? Although I\'d be delighted if that was actually BH.

Yup, same thing for me. I\'m sure this goes for all sets, as I\'ve read that others have experienced this as well. Seems to be a little hiccup when the set was compiled, as I\'m sure it wasn\'t intentional.

Still, it\'s part of the set now, so it seems that it\'s the way it\'s going to be.  8)

Got mine a few days ago. #611.

I really wondered. Was it really Buckethead who did all these drawings, or did he get some help? On the site it said handcrafted by the artist, but I mean, he must spend ours drawing this stuff.

And I haven\'t listened to whole CD set, but what I heard was really good. ;)

No help of any kind was given, an awesome undertaking.

hey travis -

just a note.  none of the other cd\'s showed up, so they should arrive back to you eventually.  i sent a message the other day, just in case you didn\'t get it, i did get the last one shipped - it\'s haunted, only plays when it feels like it, and i like that!  so, i\'m pleased.  thanks again.

I just got my box set and I\'m extremely happy. Buckethead labeled vol 6 and vol 7 both as number 6,but #7 is #7 so I\'m not worried about it.

I also just happened to get lucky because today is my day off.

I just have to ask. What music will it be? Will I hear that good funk I love so much? his great wah pedal, jazz, and something like Anatomize that I also really really like. Will I also hear something like New Year?

Am really exited to finaly take the time...and money to go and buy ISOT.

Am really exited to finaly take the time...and money to go and buy ISOT.

There are some great funky tracks on ISOT for sure, some are really lengthy jams that go about 15 minutes a piece, and they\'re just amazing. Well worth the price alone if you ask me.

There\'s also a lot of Death Cube K-sounding stuff on it, really ambient sounding stuff with just experiments and sounds effects thrown in. Some may call that filler songs, but I think they\'re just as good as the rest of the stuff.

Some of the stuff sounds very reminiscent of his Kaleidoscalp material, circuit bending and that stuff, just weird sounds and noise.

There are some tracks that sound like they could have come off Colma on it, just mellow tunes usually set to just a drum machine. Some great melodies running through these songs, that\'s for sure.

Then there are tracks that just have great riffs going for them, just don\'t expect anything as polished as Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock or anything. They\'re still good, but in a more of a "diamond in the rough" type of way.

It\'s really hard to try and sum up the whole experience of ISOT, the whole 9 and a half hours of it, to someone who hasn\'t heard it. It\'s well worth the money though, especially if you like the funky and jammy stuff you talked about. There\'s quite a lot of that, and I love everything. There\'s some things you probably haven\'t heard on a Buckethead song on some of the tracks, like keyboard parts that resemble a horn section on a couple of tracks, and the quality of both the music and the sound is just top notch if you ask me.

$200 may be a bit too steep for some people initially, but trust me, it\'s all worth the money. It\'s a must buy for the hardcore, die hard fans, and there\'s a lot of great music on these cd\'s. One track is close to 20 minutes of just pure solo-ing and massive shredding, it\'ll make your ears bleed! The last track on Vol. 13 (it has only one track) is 45 minutes long, and it\'s just entrancing with its steady beat and many different parts shifting from hard to soft and back again, it\'s awesome!

So if you\'re a hardcore fan, I definitely recommend that you buy ISOT. I\'m sure you won\'t be disappointed.  8)

Oh, I am a hardcore fan. I started to lisen to him maybe just some months after I started to play guitar, and he took it right to the next level for me. I play and lisen to him all day long. On the bus, at school, and at home. I love how he put so much power in to it, and so much feelings.

I must say that am not so big fan of all the weird noises he makes. I think it\'s really interesting and I often play it, but I like more stuff like Too Many Humans, and stuff like that. I have heard Kaleidoscalp, and I like it, but I had to lisen to the cd sometimes before it really took place.

I must say (and I do feel stupid) I didn\'t hear of Death Cube K before some days ago, so I don\'t relaly know what it is.

I love how he can put all the weird noises togeather and make great music. And the albums with Travis. I can\'t belive it when I hear it. It\'s just so great, but he is behind the piano this time right?

I think I will like this box set. I think am going to try to get it this weekend, but would love to hear more about it.

Is there any news on whether orders on the 29th of march have reached destination yet? I recieved the email about them being dispatched, but 3 weeks later I still haven\'t received it :(

Although, I ordered Crime Slunk Scene (along with 4 other Buckethead albums - but I ordered them seperately) and it came extremely quickly - barely a week after ordering.

honestly, USPS isnt reliable compare to FedEx or UPS. but it\'s just my 2 cents.

I would do what cqcc said he did, go down to your post office and ask around. Maybe they have it just lying around, got lost in the shuffle or something, you never know whether or not they screwed up and/or forgot it or something.

If they don\'t have it somehow, I would e-mail Travis and let him know about it. If your package hasn\'t turned up at your post office it probably got lost, and if so I\'m sure Travis and Buckethead would help you out and get you a new set.

I love Volume 2 (allthough, I have to say, there are, like on most albums in my opinion, a few filler tracks). But the 16 minutes long song number 5 is one of the best things I\'ve ever heard. It\'s allready woth buying just because of this song.

And the 10 minutes long song number 2 is really good, too. ;)

I\'m from England.

I took your advice and went to the post office. I\'m really disappointed with them because:

They\'ve pretty much ruined my CD set with the storage conditions and the way they\'ve treated my package.

My set has bent corners, on CD numbers 1 and 10, the 2 layers of card that make the cover are separating on CD\'s 3 and 4 ( this is the worst thing - VERY noticeable and will definitely hinder the value of my set). And on CD 12 and 13 there is a small bend in the right side of the cover. It\'s really disappointing for me - especially because they also charged me £26.89 customs for this cosmetically flawed set.  :(

I\'m sorry to have to say these bad words - but I\'m 100% certain it was nothing to do with you guys at TDRS.

My set is number #665 :)

Here\'s the latest for those waiting on ISOT CD\'s. I know we have been trying to get these out with in two weeks of ordering. This last batch is going to be more like 3 weeks. I expect to have enough to get up to date this weekend. I\'ve gotten a number of emails today from those getting a little nervous.

I will email all those waiting as soon as they ship.

Many have asked how long will this be available. I said I would give a warning. I\'m not ready to announce a date certain yet but this project is winding down.
We have a number in mind and I will announce what that is soon.

What probably is going to happen is, I will announce how many or how long ISOT will still be available and after that time the personalized edition will not be available.

We will probably offer the set in a non-personalized edition. Everything will be the same except the art work will be printed, not hand drawn and the sets won\'t be numbered. These will be offered at a substantially lower price.

I\'ll make a official anouncement here and probably start a new thread so everyone sees it soon.

Because time has been tight it was hard to get this latest batch ready in time. I expect to have enough sets to fill everybody\'s outstanding orders for them today. Hello there fellow Swede! I ordered the full set and it went through customs and everything without any complications whatsoever. It didn\'t get delayed, no charges, nothing.

Then again, just because it didn\'t happen to me doesn\'t guarantee that it won\'t happen to you, you never know. I\'m just telling that it didn\'t happen to me at least.

If I were you, I\'d order it and just see what happens, because this set is something any Buckethead fan MUST have in his collection, if you ask me.  8)

Hi! thanks for the info. None of the stuff I\'ve oredered over the internet has ever got stuck anywhere, so hopefully this won\'t either :P thanks again!

It rarely happens to me, but I try to keep my orders below $30 just to play it safe anyways. One time I ordered 2 cd\'s from tdrsmusic.com and they cost $30 exactly, and they got stuck in customs somehow. That\'s why I try to keep it below $30, minus shipping that is, if possible. Usually I split up the orders to avoid things like that.

My ISOT set was not labelled with the value however, that\'s probably why it slipped through customs so easily. Usually stuff that comes from tdrsmusic.com is labelled with the overall value, but ISOT wasn\'t, which was a bit odd. I\'m not complaining though.  ;D

I hope the same things happens to you as well, if the package is unmarked it probably won\'t be seized. Still, I wouldn\'t hesitate to order this if I were you, it\'s a once in a lifetime kind of deal and money doesn\'t really matter that much when you get something as great as this set. When I ordered it, I was prepared to pay a massive load of cash in customs charges if it got stuck, but fortunately it didn\'t.

Music > money.  8)

Do you absolutely want the hand drawn edition? My understanding is that that edition is winding down now, but a non-personalized printed edition will be offered at a cheaper price.  Selling your guitar and amp seems like a pretty big price...

It\'s on the way (It has to go from my bank account, then get converted from AUD). Hopefully you\'ll get it in time to get a personalised copy...

I just didn\'t want you to even have to entertain the thought of considering selling your guitar.

Seriously, you don\'t have to pay me back. If you feel like it, you can do something for someone else (buy someone else an album? donate to charity?).

Actually maybe the smarter thing to do would have been to have you fill out the order, then give me the receipt link so I could pay through PayPal. Then we wouldn\'t have to wait for the money to go from my account to yours... *sigh*

Probably, but I don\'t mind the wait at all considering my fortunate circumstances. I already completed the order and couldn\'t be more ecstatic, you\'ve truly made my day if not my year.
I donated my remaining $8.00 to Buckethead btw.

..and no, there\'s was no way out of paying the tax - boo!

Of course you are, how can you not be? It\'s Buckethead, and the music of ISOT is timeless. I\'ve got a feeling that when I\'m 90 years old and confined to a wheelchair or something, I\'m still going to enjoy it, along with the rest of his amazing music.

Pepper\'s Ghost is a very, very fine album as well, so many awesome tracks that are destined to become future Buckethead classics. Definitely one of my favorite Buckethead albums of all time. Then again, there are many favorite albums of his.  8)

Hey every body-parts!
I\'ve been reading through this forum for a while and it never it me to register and say something...

anyway, that\'s besides the point.

I\'ve read that Travis is emailing everyone who\'s still currently waiting for their ISOT shipment...

I don\'t think I\'ve gotten that email yet... I placed my order in about 3 weeks ago and all i\'ve gotten is my confirmation and receipt... Was that the email?

I\'m waiting patiently and I don\'t want to complain, but I\'m sort of getting worried. I hope everything\'s ok over there!

If anyone could let me know what\'s up, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone at TDRS!

Sorry, I\'ve been a little behind in updating the ISOT status here.
If your invoice number is 11210 or earlier your set has been sent out.
If you haven\'t received it yet, you should with in the next few days. You should have received an email notice that theses were being mailed out last week.
I did receive a few bounce backs of these email notices and I know some end up in junk mail folders and that might explain why you didn\'t get a notice.
The other reason you didn\'t get a notice is your invoice is 11211 or later. In that case we are still waiting for these sets to be completed. That should happen at the end of the week and be sent out then. You will get an email notice your set has shipped.
As always, if you think something is amiss with your order in any way, email me and I\'ll look into it for you.

The status of the personalized edition is we haven\'t set the definite end yet but I want to make sure the end comes as no surprise, it is coming so consider my last announcement a first warning and this the second.

Hey everybody,
Trust me, it\'s worth every cent. Besides the great music (if that\'s not an understatement, I don\'t know what is) You\'ll have something Buckethead actually touched with his robot-apendeges!
Personally I\'m finding myself listening through every CD at least 3 times and I\'m catching things I\'ve missed the 1st and 2nd times I\'ve heard it! I LOVE IT!!!
Every single CD in the set has unique artwork and you\'ll have your own set that no one else can match! If you\'re at the point of just flipping a coin to figure out whether or not you should buy it... I\'d just say buy it. Buckethead probably wont do anything like this again for a really really long time and missing out on a chance to have a personalized set (from Buckethead himself) is kind of foolish.
Enjoy bots!

Hey everyone, I\'m new here but I\'ve been a HUGE Buckethead fan for the past few months. I love collectible items, and when I saw ISOT I initially thought "Oh my god, I have to get this. Now".

But the problem is, I am only 15 and have no job whatsoever, so money is hard to come by. I was just wondering exactly how long would this amazing item be available, and if I were to order it like, this week, how long is shipping? (This is if I order all 13)

Well, if someone could answer any of my questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

All outstanding orders for ISOTS as of 6/10 have shipped. The most recent orders should ship in a day or so.

The personalized version is on it\'s last legs. I hope to have the non personalized version ready soon and they will coexist for a short while then we will take the order form down for the personalized sets.

This will happen over the next few weeks, once you see we have the non-personalized sets offered you can expect that there will be a very short window and the personalized set will cease being offered.

Hey bigbri, I\'m sorry to hear that.  I wish if I could help you but I can\'t.

When I was teenage, there was this famous band that I really wanted to see but I couldn\'t, because I was too young and had no money.  Now that musician is dead, I will never see him.  I was very sad but I just had to deal with it.

Can you may be afford to buy at least 1 or 2 CD?  That would still be personalized wouldn\'t it?

Hi. Long time TK member, new TDRS forum member. :)

Hypothetical question: if I bought the set at the end of the month, but sent in a money order to buy it, do you think the personalized sets will even be available then? Or even this Tuesday, which is when I\'ll be at the post office next time, probably?

I have ordered from TDRS several times in the past, but I don\'t know if a set would be put aside, so to speak, as you await a mailed payment.
Title: Re: In Seacrh Of Update
Post by: Travis on June 17, 2007, 02:53:46 pm
If you order anything here using the sending payment part of the order form, we hold it for 10 days till the payment arrives. If no payment arrives the invoice is voided.

I have no clear idea of exactly when these won\'t be available anymore. It could make it to the end of the month or longer but it could also be in a few days.

I have begun sounding warnings here some time ago so no one is surprised if it just all of a sudden isn\'t available any longer.

A bit late on the post, but I got #904. Buckethead drew a mountainy shape thing with a face in brown sharpie on my vol. 9. I also noticed that he used purple on the disc for vol. 13 and was nice enough to draw me a smiley face on the disc for vol. 7.  ;D

Hey, does anybody know if that\'s Buckethead beatboxing on track 04 vol. 4? For some reason, that song has become one of my favorite tracks.

And I concur. Track 5 on Vol. 2 is schweet.

Hello All!

Just received my shiny new box set and thought i\'d throw a post in here.  Got #752 and number 6 has what I interpret as a chicken with really long legs standing on a keyboard in blue ink.  Very proud that I jumped in on this deal as I would have had to kick myself for missing it (and do you know how difficult it is to kick one\'s self? Buying this was definitly much easier!)  I just have one question for Travis:

Q: What was your initial reaction when Bucket approached you with this idea?  I mean post-soiling yourself and the eventual cleanup that ensued...

Heres some piccies for the kiddies!

It\'s common that pc\'s and various program show tracks as something they\'re not, especially when they search for appropriate titles through the Internet or something.

Everyone\'s got a 45 minute track on vol. 13, but I\'ve seen people having it labelled everything you could possibly imagine. So I\'d say it\'s fairly common. I even believe one had his track labelled as Prince or something..

It\'s because it just guesses what the album is based on the length of the track and a few other things, thats why sometimes on Itunes when you pop in a disc, multiple albums will pop up and it\'ll ask you to choose which one it is.

1. Any Single discs ordered would not have buckethead drawings on them correct?

2. Are the cd\'s just CDR\'s? No label just generic store bought cheaper by the dozen CDR\'s? lol

3. This one is for Travis.. If I pay more like 50-100 dollars more can I get each cover with a little design on it? I would fricken die with happiness. Buckethead is like God to me!! My Email is adamturner2@hotmail.com. If we need to make some special arrangements just let me know. Money isn\'t a problem. If this isn\'t possible it\'s alright I\'ll buy the set anyways :P:P

Thanks guys!

QuoteHey I just wanted to confirm some things before I place my order here..

1. Any Single discs ordered would not have buckethead drawings on them correct?

2. Are the cd\'s just CDR\'s? No label just generic store bought cheaper by the dozen CDR\'s? lol

1. The single discs still have Buckethead\'s drawings on them, from what I\'ve seen.

2. Yup, they are CD-R\'s alright. No lables or anything on them, just plain white CD-R\'s with the disc # and volume # scribbled on them with a sharpie.

On the track naming thing, that would also have to do with the fact that some people have their album info added to CDDB (or whatever it\'s called now) and iTunes and various other places. So when it reads a CD, it would give various choices sometimes, right? Uh...something like that. ;) I know I\'ve played a CD with Winamp, and it presents me with 2 or 3 different track listings sometimes.

I\'ll probably use the TK track list for ISOT, I guess. I haven\'t followed that stuff too much, as I had little use for it before, but now that I\'ve ordered it, I\'ll need to call the tracks something. I hope people have also given descriptions of what the beginning of each track (especially the first!) on each disc is, so I can make sure there are no mistakes.

Mines killing me too, I cant wait. Because it\'s an international order it\'s taking a while. Travis said in the email he sent me that it should take between 1-3 weeks depending on customs. Hopefully there\'s only a week left to go if all goes well on the crossing :)

Here\'s the latest. Sales of individual volumes of ISOTS has ended.
Only full sets are available and for a sort time.
If you have already purchased 1 or more individual volumes we will continue to offer more for a limited time to those that already own at least one.

You will need to go to this page:
https://host361.ipowerweb.com/~tdrsmedi/tdrsmusic_store/isotindividual.html
and enter an invoice number for one of your other volumes.

In a sort while non personalized versions of this set will go on sale and the limited edition will end altogether.

Travis, I just want to say thanks to you and B. for having made this unique musical experience available.

You both must have been tearing your hair out at times over the past few months, putting together all the personalized sets. I hope it was all worth it to you -- it obviously was to those of us who bought it!

BRAVO!  8)

I\'m sure the smears on your ISOT are created by Buckethead himself and in fact smears and fingerprints are considered even more collectable by some.

Yeah, I love the imperfections! Hell, I\'ve got half of Bucket\'s fingerprint on one of mine: priceless!

Mine arrived safe and sound, Travis. Set #963. Pic to come, my camera is out of batteries and I\'m too lazy to go buy new ones right now.

I know its been said but I just wanted to take time to say thanks to both Buckethead and Travis for offering this set to us.

I\'ve never seen anything like it done before and it\'s an amazing thing to have. It\'s sitting pride of place in my collection as I type. Really looking forward to whatever  you\'ve got up your sleeves next. I hope Bucket doesnt have to order in a replacement hand for the one he must have short circuited doing all these sets.

Congrats on the project Buckethead and Travis.

Yes I got my 13 Cds today and I am totally happy .... Great music .... unique style .... I love it...

I have Nr. 980!!!  Thanks to you all at TDRS.....

German Customs had the set for nearly two weeks and even opened one to see whats in it.... (uuh!)

Just one question I have read in a magazine that CDRs need some special treatment to last over the years ... do you have any suggestion of what to be aware of ....?
Thanks a lot...

Awesome! I\'m happy for you that you\'re finally able to dive into the strange and epic musical journey that is ISOT. It\'s always great to listen to, but that very first listen is very special. You really don\'t know what you\'re getting yourself into, treading into unfamiliar territory like that. Many styles are being covered in this 9½-hour behemoth that is ISOT, and every second is amazing. $200 is a hefty pricetag, but if you ask me it\'s worth every cent. And the quality of it is just astounding, considering it\'s cd-r and everything.
