Your art, music, projects and links / CHRIS MOSS
May 06, 2007, 10:22:27 pm
This post is for everyone and anyone, but most especially for those who have had a chance to listen to anything that Chris Moss has put up on TDRS forum and/or at the Huzzi. I am here to let you all in on a secret. As fantastic as the acid is that has been posted, there is absolutely nothing that can compare to hearing and watching Chris Moss live. Although it's been a few weeks since my return, I was recently able to travel to London on Holiday and as an added bonus Chris had a show booked during that time.
Let me just say, it was incredible. What a treat!!  Unlike anything I have experienced and I mean it when I say live Acid is truly an experience. I haven't seen anyone musically with so much energy on a stage in a long time and I see a lot of shows. Chris really knows what he is doing and the greatest part is he has the best time doing it. He really gets the crowd involved and even jumped off stage a few times to go crazy with everyone and the Acid never skipped a beat. As I told you that night Chris, I don't know how you do it, going back and forth to the different boards you use and keep them all in sync, I was fascinated and the sound that comes out is amazing, you really feel it all the way through. This truly is an art and Chris Moss has mastered the craft.
A HUGE thank you Chris for letting me know about your gig and hanging out with me as your time permitted. I encourage everyone to experience this either live or as posted on the forum. It was a great adventure!!

Your art, music, projects and links / Seeking advise
December 16, 2004, 12:14:45 am
Help! Hey all you guitar players out there.  I need some advise. I am finally taking guitar lessons. I know I can do it but I have one delima. Being a beginner I need to get an acustic guitar and yep you guessed it I have no idea what to start with. I wen\'t over to the Guitar store today on a rare lunch break just to look around. I talked with one of the guys there and he showed me several different starter packs, you know, Guitar, case, strings, picks, tuner, which was great, but I don\'t think he thought I was serious.  Ibanez has a good one and so does Yamaha but just not sure. I wan\'t something that will be good quality and of course sounds good and will last awhile but I don\'t need top of the line. I know alot of you play so I couldn\'t think of anyone better to ask.  Any input is greatly appriciated.
Thanks!  :)

General Discussion / The Art of seeing without sight
January 30, 2005, 05:10:06 am
Came across this and wanted to share with everyone. The story is about an artist who is blind. It is very enlightning and just goes to show that there are still some good things going on in this world.

What a fabulous art book idea. Maybe someone will get wind of his story and put this incredible mans art in print. I know I would enjoy it. Amazing!
The link below is one of his paintings on this sites homepage.

We have all touched on our animals and how PT has affected them, I thought you all might be interested in this bit of information from a radio program that aired last night about how Music affects plants. It was very interesting. There are links to the Scientists web page and other links for related persons who have also studied this. I just love music! Enjoy.  ;D

General Discussion / Back to music ..something to try..

Hey all, Has anyone heard of or listened to KinZaZa?

http://www.kinzaza.com/kinzaza/index.html

This is really a fantastic musical experience, I highly recommend it!! I picked up the cd at Tower about a year ago after only listening to a few tracks on the listening station. It is filed under new age or world music, the title of the genre is changed all the time, but  to me it\'s just plain music. I love it. It is beyond the norm and just under experimental. If you like things along the lines of Enigma or Aria, anything that is different, you will like it. Check it out, tell me what you think.

General Discussion / Travis-- Recording Question??
September 27, 2004, 09:29:50 pm
Hey Travis, I have an effects question in particular to PT. This shows up a couple of times in different areas but my question pertains to Track 3:Dream One.
About 3 mins and 54 seconds into the song there is a guitar sound way in the back that is echoed and haunting, it last for only about 2 seconds but it catches me every time. I guess my question is, how was this sound achieved? Guitar obviously, but can I ask, acoustic or electric? and was there effects on the instrument itself or was this applied after it was on the board? I hope this is not a silly question but I really like that sound.  Thanks in advance. ;)

Buckethead, Henry, Travis and Viggo....I want to thank you for the opportunity you have provided in sharing your creative collaboration once again via Please Tomorrow. I bid you congratulations on a completed venture well done. I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing this journey with you. It is not often that a piece of work such as this encourages the mind to move, with every twist and turn of imagination and musical imagery you have transported me through this night. I anxiously await the future paths that you will take and hope that once again you will allow us, me, the chance to read that story. I tip my hat to you all.

General Discussion / Hello Everyone
September 16, 2004, 07:14:20 pm
Good Day Everyone!
It has been great fun over the last few months peeping in as a guest here at the TDRS forum and have thoroughly enjoyed the topics and conversations. In observing all this insightful and just plain fun information you have all shared with one another I asked myself why the heck haven\'t I registered yet to join you? I had no answer for myself and so, here I am. I must say that gkg and Chris, the two of you completely crack me up, the whole sniffing glue incident recently was key.
The biggest reason for wanting to get involved is simply this, Travis. You are a master at your craft. Thank you. I find myself extremly anxious to further delve into this amazing spectrum of music that you have created on your own and with these outstanding artists that you have worked with and/or have provided a medium to present them to us. I have no instrument or engineering talent other than my voice and when I come across an element where instruments and sound play like nothing I have heard befor I must partake to the extent that I can in that experience, because of you and this site and this forum I have been allowed to do that. Though I have only recently become aquantied with what you do I have found it to be very addicting. My interest is peeked. Again Travis, I thank you!
Now, to all of you living in the chicken coop I would like to request assistance/suggestions as to which Buckethead experience should be my first. Not being completely a chicken Virgin as I am of course familiar with Bucketheads work on PFA, I would like to expand the experience with something solo. I want my first time to be amazing so I ask your input, I know you all wont let me down.

Earlier in the month several well know individuals participated in an event produced and hosted by Howard Zinn called "The People Speak". Selections from Zinn's Books "A Peoples History " and "Voices of a People\'s History of the United States," were preformed and the event was video taped in hopes of being aired on television and distributed on DVD. We can all hope it will be picked up for such viewings, the more aware we are of the event the better, so spread the word. For the time being "ThePeopleSpeak08" have loaded video from the performances on youtube. TDRS recording artist Viggo Mortensen was among these performers. Below is a link to his performance as well as others that can be accessed from the same page.  I encourage everyone to view not only Mr. Mortensen's performance but also those of Marisa Tomei and Danny Glover. This is powerful stuff and we should never forget those in history who have spoken and left this behind for us to be reminded and hopefully learn from. Enjoy!

Am I going completely mental or did I read on here somewhere that Ramy was touring with Seal? I have searched and searched for the thread but I must have lost my super sleuth power today. Seal will be playing here in September and was curious to know if Ramy is involved. I like Seal but it would be even more worth it just to see Ramy!  Anyone?
