As usual the majority of the american public is has its head in the sand, because it\'s not them and it\'s not happening to americans. The apathy in this country makes my stomach churn.

...and have you noticed yet that one simply CANNOT make comparisons to Germany in the 1930\'s? Why, that\'s UNHEARD OF!!!

We haven\'t heard a peep out of the Patriot Act lately; have there been any more restrictions on freedoms that should be publicized and haven\'t been? What about people held under Homeland Security regulations? What\'s happening to them? Does anyone know or can anyone find out?

This is all so sad.  :\'(  I refuse to be scared of it though. Worried yes, but fearing it gives them more power.

Ashcroft maybe gone, but he will only replaced by one of his cronies, either Larry Thompson or Alberto Gonzales. If it is Gonzales, expect more of the same trampling of our rights and freedom, as he helped penned the Patriot Act. Additionally he was one of the people who came up with the militaries changes about "prisoners of war", protected by the Geneva Convention, to become "enemy combatents" not protected by the afore mentioned. It\'s more of a play on words.

the latest talk of building a new prison with hospital that can handle "mentally ill" is a VERY scary way to have electro-shock right on hand for anyone who happens to "need" it.

this is just not the country i love - they are white washing the lies and the liars, enshrouding themselves in a selfrighteousness that terrifies me.  they want us all to report each other for saying "treasonous" things - i keep getting told to tone down my anit-bush art because i\'m gonna get into "trouble" although all the well meaning souls can\'t seem to tell me what law i am breaking.

where is this all going to lead and how long before enough of us stand up that the ship starts to lean the other way???
