Truth:  it's OK if they don't understand.  if you follow it, stay true to it, and respect it, you could be in store for the greatest journey you could ever imagine.

"i don\'t think it\'s about understanding really. anyone who thinks they really understand someone else\'s music, probably just understands how they themselves feel about it. we all do that, and it\'s the feelings accumulated that make it what it is and, feeds the artist too.... that\'s my frame of mind right now at least. now, every now and then you\'ll go "i get it! ha! that\'s what that meant!" or, maybe you\'ll be watching a movie and you\'ll hear some background music and realize you\'ve heard that before too  -
but, don\'t put pressure of understanding a cd or a work of music on your shoulders.. i guess that\'s what i\'m trying to say. it does it, or it doesn\'t. if it does, you play it again and again, if it doesn\'t, you don\'t. if it\'s a not sure if it does it, you save it for a rainy day." -Oke Hitsu

“The whitest white dipped in clinging dirt. Another summer has thrown its corpse on my floor. The streets have given birth to even more strangers. Rivers of urine stripe the sidewalks. It rained the other day and the only thing that occurred to me was it would wash the smell away for a few days. Tonight is the first hot night. Outside my window, the human noise factor is intense. It’s past midnight. They talk too much. They scream liquor-fueled idiot chatter. I pull away and close the door. I think about how it’s all going to play out. How much time people spend trying to get across to each other, trying to clear their names. Trying to overturn the charges brought against them. I have decided to tell them that it’s all true and not seek a fair trial. It’s the only way to be free. Stop trying to matter. I could get my body tattooed with air-colored ink and walk invisibly amongst them. I have heard people say that they felt closer to their parents after they have died. Maybe if I treat people as if they were dead, I could get along with them better. I want to be able to like living people somehow. As it is now, they’re best coming through speakers or trapped between book covers. Here I go into the heat. Four months as a human anvil.”
~ Henry Rollins

"the chickens are the toughest to entertain.  if you can make them lay eggs, you might be entertaining them - kind of like the way a ride at Disneyland entertains me.  if you can take people away from the every day wedge, and bring them back to their childhood\'s feelings by wedging out Wonka music or Star Wars, and then throw a slaughterhouse scald or peck at them, they seem to accept it better.

"If you find your truth, you must follow it. You could find it in a paper bag, or in a statue, or in a slaughterhouse; you might find it dangling somewhere. People might say, "What the heck are you doing?" But it\'s OK if they don\'t understand. And if you follow it, stay true to it, and respect it, you could be in store for the greatest journey you could ever imagine."
- Buckethead

"Somehow I can\'t believe there are any heights that can\'t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C\'s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably."

"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think its real because thats how powerfull our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and its very brightly coloured , and its very loud and its fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say, \'Hey! Dont worry, dont be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.\'

And we kill those people.

"Shut him up! I\'ve got a lot invested in this ride! Shut him up!" Look at my furrows of worry! Look at my big bank account and my family! This has to be real."

It\'s just a ride. But we always kill those few guys that try to tell us that, you ever notice that? and let the demons run amuck. but it doesn\'t matter cuz it\'s just a ride and we can change it any time we want. Its only a choice, no effort, and no worries, no job, no savings of money. Just a choice right now between Fear and Love."

RIP Bill Hicks....

So live, that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
