I found a nice score at the used dvd store today - the 7 disc Harold Lloyd comedy collection box set. 28 different films plus tons of bonus features. Since the release of left Hanging I\'ve been watching LLoyd clips on youtube but now I got the real goods. I\'m pretty stoked!
the cable company gave us free HBO for a short spin. seen a few good ones lately:
the Blind Side - this could be categorized a chick-flick in my book but it was actually a really good movie. Sandra Bullock was really good I thought.
Brazil - it\'s been at least 10 years since I saw this last and it is still excellent! I love how visually artistic this movie is, combined with the humor and thought provoking themes it will always be in my top 20 of cult classics. Even though it is 25 years old I find it very relevant today with the whole bureaucracy fighting the "terrorists" plot. Such a great movie!
Coraline - I really like this movie, I\'ve always enjoyed claymation, not sure if this is or not but the animation is really good. I like most of Tim Burtons stuff.
Book of Eli - I love post apocalyptic movies, it is probably my favorite genre. Denzel is good in this movie but it seemed a bit tame for my likings.
Monsters vs Aliens - watched this with the kids, it was entertaining. Dreamworks stuff is usually pretty good
Date Night - Hilarious, totally funny - "And will you, for the love of God, put on a fucking shirt?
the Hangover - this was also hilarious, even Mike Tyson was funny
My Life in Ruins - came across this by chance because I saw Richard Dreyfuss and it was pretty funny, I guess you would call this a romantic comedy
Land of the Lost - what a waste of time - I am a HUGE Sid and Marty Kroftt fan and I thought this film did them no justice to the awesome stuff they created.
I\'ve seen a few more I either can\'t remember the title or are not worth mentioning. As soon a s I get 3 hrs to kill I\'m gonna finally see Avatar, hope it\'s half as good as the hype.
