Ok, I bought Giant Robot and I really like it. What other albums do you think I should get? I thought BucketheadLand 2 wasn\'t very good and I really like Population Override. I don\'t like Electric Tears that much though, it\'s kind of boring.

What\'s In Search of The Box set? I keep seeing it and I don\'t know anything about it, other than that there are 13 CDs and that it costs $100. What CDs are in there? What does it have etc?

If you like population override you should look at the Thanatopsis stuff. I would Recommend Elephant mans alarm clock, Inbred Mountain, Crime Slunk Scene, and Peppers Ghost. All great. If you want reviews go to www.buckethead.tk register and there is a bunch!

i personally recommend buying Cuckoo Clocks of Hell, Inbred Mountain, The Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock, and most certainly Pepper\'s Ghost, and when you can, try and nab some of Bucket\'s other classic slabs like Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse and also Bermuda Triangle. and who knows, you might like Pieces or El Stew or Cornbugs, too!


I also recommend giving Electric Tears another good shot in the future when the time is right. You have to understand that that record was created during some rougher times in Big B\'s career...he didn\'t have a lot of the amenities that he has today and i think there may have been some difficult hardships in the coop; but out of it came some of Buckethead\'s most sincere, moving, and  inspiring work to date.


As far as your questions about ISOT..

It\'s kind of like Buckethead\'s tour de force of his catalog. During a couple of his rare conducted interviews, Herbie mentioned a celebratory 13 disc release commemorating 13 years of Bucketheadland success. I\'m not sure how many of us took him seriously, but sure enough, Bucket released the set earlier this year. He made 1,000 custom sets for $200, each personalized by hand and individually numbered.

I can say that 100 $\'s for a non-personalized set seems like a good deal to me, but i\'m not telling you to put in hours of overtime or rob someone to come up with the set in the next week. Maybe get a better feel for Bucket and then consider it?


As far as reviews of albums, i would encourage you to take keagan\'s advice and register at www.buckethead.tk. Once you\'re in, look for the "How About These Wedges?" forum. Plenty of dedicated bots give their feedback and it\'s always solid.

About ISOT, are there even track titles, or is it just him playing a bunch of unreleased songs? Either way it sounds great.

I think once I get more money I\'ll buy either Pepper\'s Ghost or Crime Slunk Scene from this website. Do those sound like good choices?

Chicken Noodles is basically a follow up to population override.  It is a spin-off to one of the songs and is similar but VERY mellow.  If you really like Population Override then you should like it, but like I said it is very mellow, moreso than PO.  Thanotopsis albums are somewhat similar to PO and not as mellow as CN.  You will almost certainly like them if you liked PO.  They are really great albums.  Enter the Chicken is probably Buckethead\'s most commercial album.  It is with Serj Tarkanian (sp?) from System of a Down as well as other artists.  Personally, I would wait to buy it as there are better Buckethead albums.  Funnel Weaver has like 49 really short tracks that are basically different guitar riffs.  Colma is a beautiful, mellow album with a lot of great songs.  It is a great buy and one that you can play for almost anyone and they will like it.  Cuckoo Clocks of Hell and Kaleidoscalp are two of Buckethead\'s heaviest, most shreddingest albums.  It is a toss up to me, but most people would probably recommend CCoH.  If you want some really crazy, ripping guitar, go for one of them.  Monsters and Robots is an amazing album, also with a lot of faster paced songs.  It is a definite buy at some point for anyone who likes Buckethead.  Heaven and Hell and Shin E Light Years are very mellow and don\'t feature Buckethead as prominently as some of the other albums.  Very nice albums, but probably not the ones I would pick if I could only buy one.  Finally, Tunnel is a strange, ambient album.  Again, worth having, but probably not where you want to start.  Anyway, I would say get Chicken Noodles  if you want the follow-up to PO, but be aware that it is even more mellow.  An amazing album, though.  If you want something more rocking, go with Monsters and Robots or if you want something really heavy, get Cuckoo Clocks of Hell.  Oh, and if you want something that you can play for just about anyone, get Colma.  I actually have given copies of Colma, Population Override, Electric Tears, and the Thanatopsis albums to someone that was recovering in the hospital from heart surgery and she loved them.

That is an amazing price.  There are a lot of tracks that will somewhat remind you of Population Override.  There are also tracks that will give you an idea about Death Cube K and some of Buckethead\'s other works.  Not all the tracks are as polished as some of his albums, but there is a ton of amazing and interesting music on the sets.  Oh, and the CDR just means they burnt the copy as far as I can tell.  I don\'t think it will make any real difference unless you are a snobby audiophile.  The sound quality is great on them.  BTW, let us know what you get and how you like it.

Anyway, I would say get Chicken Noodles  if you want the follow-up to PO, but be aware that it is even more mellow.  An amazing album, though.

Is it more mellow than Electric Tears? ET is right on with mellow I think. I honestly don\'t think it could get more mellow.

I have been listening to Electric Tears a lot more now actually. It\'s really starting to grow on me.

Also, I like PO in it\'s entirety, but every time I listen, it\'s like I can\'t tell the songs apart. Is that what any of the other albums are like?

I think I\'ll get either Monsters and Robots or Colma. I\'m leaning a little more towards Colma though.

Monsters & Robots and Colma were the first 2 CDs I got. You won\'t be disappointed.

The whole album really. The fact that it was mainly people talking and not too much music, but when there was guitar playing, it all sounded like the same heavy riff.

Giant Robot was a little similar, but the talking wasn\'t nearly as frequent and there was a lot more music too. I thought Giant Robot was great.

Chicken Noodles is amazingly mellow.  It is much different than Electric Tears, so it is hard to say which is more mellow.  Oh, and if you have trouble with it in Population Override, then it will be hard for you to tell the songs apart in Chicken Noodles.  I usually think of  Electric Tears and Colma as being somewhat similar, but that is probably a bit misleading.  Anyway Colma is one of my favorite Buckethead albums.  However, if you want some exposure to Buckethead\'s more rocking side, go with Monsters and Robots.  Actually, it doesn\'t really matter which you get because I bet you are already hooked.  At some point you will start buying anything by Buckethead that you can get your hands on.

Oh, and if you have trouble with it in Population Override, then it will be hard for you to tell the songs apart in Chicken Noodles.

But there are only 4 songs.  How is that possible?

I think I\'ll buy Colma, then when I get the money I\'ll buy Pepper\'s Ghost, then Chicken Noodles then I think I\'ll buy Crime Slunk Scene. Does that sound good?
