In Search Of The

Bought this yesterday, listened to it three times in total and it's probably one of my favourite in recent years. The production sounds great, the riffs are catchy and there seems to be less noodling, glitchy wankery going on. I do like the glitchy stuff but sometimes all I want is a bone crushing riff and a groove I can kick to. This is that kind of album. At half an hour, it flies by which is a shame, but I really dig it.

Did some research on Molokai... found this info on wikipedia.

"Molokaʻi is distinguished in the Roman Catholic religion as the site of past religious miracles verified and confirmed by the Vatican, and the longtime residence of Father Damien de Veuster, a Belgian priest and Mother Marianne Cope of the Sisters of St. Francis, both of whom have been canonized Roman Catholic Saints for their treatment and care given during the 19th century to long term sufferers of Hansen's Disease, also known as leprosy."

...so it got me thinking about the feeling one would have, arriving by boat, knowing that there are people there with this horrible disease.  Yep, Buckethead, you chose a perfect name for an album.   Can't wait to hear it!

Check out some photos too... kinda ominous.

Molokai is an island in Hawaii. Maybe Buckethead was chillin at a beach before the tour.

After some sour wedges... There's this f**king beast of an album! Yes yes yes!!! So fresh, so tasty! That's our boy!!! His metal writing is the best!

So far it feels like a modernish/ heavyish album with a buckethead roundhouse kick to the face! So awesome  :D :D :D

In Search Of The

The drum programming on this is amazing too, nice and varied, with some surprising patterns, stuff I've not heard much of before. One question though, Brewer is credited as doing the baritone on track 4. I can't really tell. Is that info on Wikipedia right?

This is soooo awesome!!!!!  He does it again... it's like he heard our cries for something like this.
Thanks Buckethead!
