haha Sam L. Jackson.....

I was awe-inspired by Sweeney Todd... everything about it, the twistedness (is that a word?) the music, everything. Great movie if you like the weird idea stuff.
Respect.

definitely having some Mrs. Lovett\'s meat pies at the next Halloween bash :)
Truth:  it's OK if they don't understand.  if you follow it, stay true to it, and respect it, you could be in store for the greatest journey you could ever imagine.

Hey-this was auto-edited! lol!

lol. hancock. thats funny.

What was the premise of that movie? Was it serious, or a humor? Can I have a rundown before I waste $8.50 at the movies?
Respect.

Network (1976)

great movie and so eerily portraying what is still going on today.

Just watched a very weird, disturbing yet interesting and thought provoking movie called LUNACY by Jan Svankmajer. It\'s categorized as horror but it is more of the philosophical type. The director calls it "an infantile homage to the writings of Edgar Alan Poe", specifically The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether and The Premature Burial . I am very intersted in seeing other films by Svankmajer, it was pretty good - two thumbs up. It is a foriegn film (Czech) with english subtitles so if you don\'t like to read then don\'t rent it. I am pretty sure you can pick it up on netflix, I stumbled upon it at the used dvd store (also found Flesh for the Beast -  ;Dstoked).  More info here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407236/

BTW Nuff - watched Network on your recommendation, GREAT movie! I enjoyed it but it made me mad because as you said it mirrors todays news programs - ratings and greed outweigh journalistic integrity.

Dark Knight anyone? Heath Ledger was insane. So sad he is not here anymore. This will be a keeper on DVD.

Yes, the best Batman movie ever, in my opinion. The Joker was a very believable sociopath-just an evil dude. See it on the big screen first if you get a chance you\'ll be glad you did.

Aequitas

Heath Ledger was the best acting performance I have ever seen. Hands down.

For the next Batman there is a good chance that it will be Johnny Depp as the Riddler. I can\'t wait! He chose another great actor (Depp) and another villain whom Christopher Nolan will make a great revamp of.
Respect.

The Coen brothers Burn After Reading.
Just rented it. Freaky, funny, bizarre, sad. Worth seeing.

it\'s listed as a comedy-drama

as far as the DVR i highly recommend it.  i don\'t believe i\'d watch television without it.  my habits are odd and i\'ll usually just tune in for a minute to see if anything interesting is going to be showing on IFC or Sundance and the surrounding channels, set it to record this & that and then when i have time to actually kill watching TV, i\'ve got something cool to check out.  it\'s nice.  on the rare occasion i record something with commercials i can forward through them.  also quite nice.  i need to pick up a dvd recorder one of these days also because you can copy the movies from your DVR onto DVD and keep them.  pretty sweet.  wouldn\'t mind transferring a bunch of episodes of the Henry Rollins show and 30 Days that i have sitting on there taking up room.
