Well I asked at both my local post office and the post office I collected it from. From what I could gather from their bullshit linguo, it has something to do with the labels on the package and the path it takes. ISOT wouldn\'t get rifled through because it\'s a standard package. Because BR is what it is and it\'s been labeled as such, it gets searched.

I think.

strange mate. did you sort everything out with Travis.
I gotta say hes been really cool with me in the past about things like this. you cool?
any thoughts on the cd yet?

In Search Of The

He\'s been excellent, as always, sorted it out in minutes. Aside from the problems I posted, I also noticed this:

However, that said, I am pleased with the edition I got. 200. Lovely nice round number.

Quoteguys im sorry if im annoying any of you. But I just don\'t understand why we are being charged £16. Lets face it, I dont mind paying it. Its not an awful lot of money. I really don\'t mind! I just dont understand how ISOT boxset wasnt accounted for through customs but this boxset (best regards) was....how does that work?
Someone please explain it... sorry...

As far as I know, they just randomly select any parcels which are labelled as a value of over £39 I think. ISOT can get custom\'d, mine did.
It\'s just randomly picked I think. Or a percentage of the +£39 valued packages get done.
That\'s the answer I got from my Royal Mail collection office when I asked. Looks like they don\'t have a reason at all - They just want money of people.
I agree. It\'s a ridiculous rule, there is no good reason for it, and they just ransom packages back to people that they\'ve already paid for.
Are there any other couriers you can use which don\'t charge for imports? UPS or FedEx? If they don\'t charge could Travis maybe offer an option to use a different courier? (Most likely at additional cost, though)
It\'s just I\'d rather pay an additional $10 here for UPS postage than get hit with an extortionate customs charge.

PS, glad you finally got it.
My favourites are Green 2, Orange 2, Yellow 3 and 4.
I haven\'t got my Blue disc yet, but people are saying that\'s really good as well!

The one I got with my set won\'t play on anything I try it on. There is data on the disc - I can see it, but nothing I have can read it so i think it could be corrupted or it burned wrong.
I emailed Travis and he\'s sent me a replacement out 8)

I orderd mine yesterday. Can\'t wait to get it. Does anyone know how long it will take to get to Norway? I have to go away in 2-3 weeks, and was hoping to get it before then :S

Alex R

^I\'d think 1-2 weeks. Shipping is pretty fast here. :D

I\'d be open to paying a bit more for an alternative shipping courier provided they didn\'t charge for delivery from customs to your address as Royal Mail do, definately. The customs/import charge- import VAT to be precise-, I wouldn\'t imagine you can negate with any certainty if you use different couriers to import as they\'ve all got to get into the country the same way/route I\'d guess. Come to think of it, it\'s totally possible that customs enlist Royal Mail to deliver packages from them to the end destination, domestically, ie that the initial import courier doesn\'t resume delivery after the package has been processed through customs. Therefore, the £8 handling fee RM charge might be inescapable. Hence, it might not change anything to use an alternative import courier such as Fedex or UPS. Anyone know anymore on this?

Thats great. I think that when I got my ISOT it took 3 weeks, but that was a year ago.

I just wonder if there\'s a way of labeling them that would essentially skip the customs rigmarole.

Alex R

International orders my be subject to import duties by your country. To see what these might be, contact your local customs office.
We always ship international orders with customs declarations of the retail value of your order. We will not falsify these documents, please don\'t ask.

Yeah, there are rules, everything has to be declared. Just makes me wonder still why some just get searched. It seems every copy of BR going to the UK has been screened.

Alex R

Not mine, looks like I was the lucky one. 8)

Lucky indeed! What does your cover look like? I\'m always interested in how the drawings differ. I saw someone on YouTube unveiling theirs and Brain\'s doodle wasn\'t smiling, whereas he is on mine. Obviously every one of them is different, but how so?
