This might be old news but I just found out that this soundtrack has Brain, Larry LaLonde, Dan Monti, and Greg Tripi on it.

I guess I looking for an answer to how does Buckethead and Monti write?  Monti with beats first or is it Buckethead with the riff and Monti who matches?

Whatever they are doing its working quiet well!!!

TDRS artists, music and related topics / T-shirt design
February 16, 2011, 05:06:12 pm
I just watched EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP and thought it was awesome!!!

I guess because of the movie I had been thinking of art and pop culture.  Of course I started thinking about how Banksy, a street artist, would use Buckethead\'s image.  In that thought process a T-shirt design came to mind.

The front of the shirt would have the Japanese words for Buckethead, like on the Bucketheadland cd, and the back would be Buckethead\'s hand fingers pointed down and straight and actual sized.

And yes if you love art you need to watch this film!!!!

TDRS artists, music and related topics / Albino Slug

I just came across a song by Scratch Acid called Albino Slug.

Scratch Acid was a post-hardcore noise band in the 80\'s, and when they split they formed Rapeman with Steve Albini and after that they formed Jesus Lizard (one of the best bands ever!)

David Yow should do some vocals with Buckethead on the next Buckethead and Friends cd.

I also wonder if Buckethead is a fan of these bands...

I have recently been jamming to Ben-Wa\'s "Disciples of Retro-tech" and completely love it.  Its strange for me to say that because at heart I\'m a metal head.  Not too strange though because Im a big fan of Buckethead\'s efforts with electronica musicians: Devil Dub, El Stew, Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse, Bermuda Triangle, Bolt-on Neck, and Cobra Strike II.

Basically I love Buckethead\'s work with Extrakd, P-Sticks, Ben Wa, and Disc.

Is there anyone else here that feels that way and if so do you know of other albums from these artists or other music that sounds like them.

Your help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Wow what a great CD.  If you like it now just wait till you throw on the headphones.  I felt like I was swimming through the tunes.

I would say that the style of this recording is much like Colma, A Real Diamond in the Rough, and Electric Tears.  Its more up beat than all of them but still a very mellow recording.  The drum and bass work stand out more on this recording and I feel that\'s where I get this upbeat feeling.  The tempos are about the same as the other recordings it just seems to be more dynamic.  Bigger booms when things kick in, changing up the beats and the bass lines create a varied atmosphere of chill.

Thank you Buckethead for creating another recording that will affect my soul.

I have been working on this idea for awhile, but recently I had an epiphany.

Guitar Hero: Bucketheadland

Guitar Hero was designed to interact with songs you already know.  Inevitability those who played the game played songs that they have never heard or even better played songs from bands that they never heard of.  In fact that's how I became a Dethklok fan.  I'm sure Buckethead picked up many fans that way as well; I know this because my students know who Buckethead is, but they only know the song Jordan.  At first I wanted to a game with just Buckethead songs, but as time has gone by my thoughts have changed into something more special.

Would you buy a Buckethead game where all of the songs on it by Buckethead have never been released before?  How about it mixed with other songs that Buckethead feels inspirational to him?  Alone that sounds great... but my thoughts have added even more details.

The whole game could be based in Bucketheadland.  Each attraction would have theme music that you would have to play through.  For instance the Giant Robot attraction would have the Giant Robot theme music with other songs that you might hear while in line.  The graphics would emulate this experience; possibly the ride itself where you're in Giant Robot walking over and through the park, or even fighting Aquabot.  I could go on describing each attraction but I'm guessing you have the idea.

The next part would be the difficulty settings.  There would still be easy, medium, hard, and extreme, but this would be for using only 3 buttons (for each setting.)  Then you would have a choice of skills like powercords, so you could choose extreme and check the skill powercords.  Each skill would completely change each difficultly level.  So the hardest level would be extreme level with all the skills checked.  Another skill that I'm thinking of would be the use of the killswitch.  This idea is still really fresh so I'm sure I could come up with many more skills.  Yep... a lot of work needs to be done in this area but it's a work in progress.

Ideas of possible SKILLS
More Power (powercords)
Killswitch (would need special guitar)
Finger Licking Good (add to difficulty setting more buttons)
Ghost notes (don't have to strum)
Shredder (during solos use all buttons)
Autonomic Buckethead (never miss a note)

I would like to hear what you bucket-bots think about this idea.  Any ideas for attractions?  How about skills?

TDRS artists, music and related topics / Forensic Follies

I finally got to hear this CD and I have to say... ouch.

How many think that this recording is just Buckethead playing around with allready recorded material using protools.  I swear that that it is because so many of the sounds are total familiar.  So really this is just a remix album of all his work with Monty.  Cool idea but its really hard to listen to.

I guess the title of the cd fits quite well... evidence(forensic) that has been messed up (follies.)

To Buckethead... right on with the idea and for being inovative but... ouch.

"Who are you Buckethead?"

from Legend when Jack and the elves get trapped in the cell.

Anyone else have a good sample for Buckethead?

I really dig this cd!  I think that it will grow on me the more I listen to it.  If you like all the Dan Monti recordings you will love this one.  Very much Buckethead with repetitive metal riffs with a lot of killer solos.  He of course has a couple weird sounding songs on this as well.  I like the fact that there is a lot of songs I just wish it was 5 to 10 more minuets longer.

I have only listened to it about 10 times while doing other things.  I realy havent gave it a intense listen yet... but its easy to say its my favorite since Decoding The Tombs of Bansheebot.  Eventhough I really liked Dragons.

Bolt on Neck Prototype #1 is next... only a short listen... the first cut is one of the few songs they played live over a year ago.  Good $*!*

Amazon has Buckethead\'s recordings under his real name...

Thats like buying a cd called
Vincent Damon Furnier - Easy Action
or
Gordon Matthew Sumner - The Dream of the Blue Turtles
or
Brian Warner - Antichrist Superstar

If I was Buckethead I would be upset because the name explains his art... just like Death Cube K describes his art because its different from Buckethead.

What do you think?

TDRS artists, music and related topics / How long...

I must confess that I spend around two hours a day listening to Buckethead...

So, how long do you spend with Buckethead a day?

(Colma everyday for last couple years.. yet it never bores me)
