Honestly, if I were you I would use the money to get more of his other albums first.  You have an extremely small selection and are missing a ton of amazing albums.  Don\'t get me wrong, I love ISOT and this is not an indictment of it at all.  However, it is a bit out there and not as polished as some of his other albums.  I just think your money would be better spent getting a good base of the wide variety of albums that are out there.  You can start right here at tdrs and I am sure people will give you opinions on the albums if you wish.

If you don\'t like Kaleidoscalp, you might not like Inbred Mountain.  They are somewhat in the same vein.

I also pre-ordered on the last day (serves me right for not checking the site after pre-ordering Pepper\'s Ghost).  Travis, I totally understand that you can\'t get them all out on the same day.  I am simply thrilled to be getting a set and am very thankful for the opportunity.  It really is a great time for anyone that loves Buckethead\'s music.

Enter the Chicken is probably his most commercial release.  I also don\'t enjoy it as much as most of his other albums.  I still really like it, but I tire of the songs more quickly.  I do really get a kick out of "The Hand" song.  Oh, and it is nice to have "Nottingham Lace" on an album.  Anyway, if I were you I would get Crime Slunk Scene next.  There are a ton of amazing songs on it besides "Soothsayer".  I am currently really into "We Can Rebuild Him," and "Electronic Slight of Hand" is one of my favorites.  Anyway, it is an incredible album.

Awesome!  I was jonesing for some new Buckethead and he delivers.  I am continually amazed at how productive he is.  Thanks for another amazing offer, Travis!  BTW, make sure Buckethead leaves some time for some more Chicken Noodles.  I can\'t get enough of you guys together.

When I first heard the Cornbugs I pretty much agreed with mike.  However, after awhile they really grew on me.  Some of the guitar playing is really interesting and fun.  I wouldn\'t mind being able to remove the vocals, but even they grew on me after awhile.  Certain songs are definitely worth having, such as pokerface.  I can definitely understand not liking them, though.

Definitely, and after seeing what he wrote on #88, I wouldn\'t trade it anyway.   ;D

I get my DCK today and eagerly rip open the package.  I was kind of hoping for #159 as that is what I have for ISOT and I thought it would be neat to have the same number.  Anyway, I got #88 and on the cover Buckethead has written "Lynn Swann"!  I am a huge Steelers fan and had suspected that Buckethead was too, but this seals it.  He is wearing a Steelers jacket in his ODB tribute and had handed out Terrible Towels at a Pittsburgh show I went to, but handed out nothing Ravens-related in Baltimore the next night.  Now this.  I am absolutely thrilled to have this disk.  Thank you Buckethead!

Should I just work my way down and buy everything I don\'t already own? It all seems so good.

Yes.  And I envy you in that you have yet to even hear these amazing albums.    Although, I also envy me in that I get to hear them whenever I want.  Seriously, I\'d give you an order to get them in, but it is simply too hard.  I will give you some very broad groupings:

Heavy:  PG, CSC, IM, ILM, TEMAC, DC (actual lyrics you can sing along to;  a somewhat different Buckethead experience for that reason), B2 (I think you said you already had this), I guess also CS1 and CS2 (a little more electronic sounding, although I am not really happy with that description, but I don\'t know what else to say.  Very cool albums).

In between:  Gorgone (sort of like Thanatopsis meets Island of Lost Minds)

Mellow(er):  PO, CN, all of the Thanatopsis albums, Shin Terai, and Shine E

Ambient:  DCK

ISOT gets its own class because it spans everything.  There are simply too many tracks to label this any particular thing other than Buckethead experimenting and ripping out some truly unique music.

Honestly, I am not really happy with any descriptions I give Buckethead albums because they are so hard to describe.

"gonna dig up bodies, gonna dig up bodies..."

I get not liking Bucketheadland 2.  For me, I bought it along with a bunch of other albums at a show a long time ago, so I guess I wasn\'t bothered by the fact that a lot of it isn\'t really music (then again, as Buckethead said, "a lot of what is music to me isn\'t music to other people" or something along those lines).  I had a bunch of amazing new Buckethead to listen to, and I enjoyed Bucketheadland 2 as the trip through the most amazing abusement park in the world that I think it was intended as.  I can see being a bit disappointed, though if you bought it expecting front to back shredding.  I would advise to any new bots that they should research what they are buying first.  Buckethead puts out such a wide variety of material that it is very important to figure out what you are purchasing beforehand (as much as is possible).  Some people might love one thing and not love another.  Personally, I buy it all and it all satisifes me in one way or another, but I don\'t buy DCK expecting Pepper\'s Ghost.  Anyway, there are plenty of bots around to act as tour guides.  Just ask.

Amazon has two copies of Dawn of the Deli Creeps available right now.  One for $15.99 used and one for $16.00 new.  I wasn\'t a big fan of it at first, but that album really grew on me the more I listened to it.  Now I think it is quite special.

HUH? I love Bucketheadland 2!

;D

I do too, but it is not for everyone.  It is meant as a tour of Bucketheadland and has some amazing songs on it, but is not music from start to finish so I think that is why some people hate it.  Oh well, to each his own.  I think it is worth it for Frozen Brains alone, but that\'s just me.

Cuckoo Clock of Hell, Inbred Mountian, Kaleidoscalp and Isle of Lost Minds are all pretty heavy, but I guess it depends on what you mean by heavy.  You might also consider The Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock, Crime Slunk Scene, or Pepper\'s Ghost.  Population Override is probably about as jazzy as any.  Personally, it might be my favorite album.
329
Every one of those albums is spectacular, and each in a different way.  Oh, and it is hard to tell the songs apart on CN because it really sounds like one extended track.

Chicken Noodles is amazingly mellow.  It is much different than Electric Tears, so it is hard to say which is more mellow.  Oh, and if you have trouble with it in Population Override, then it will be hard for you to tell the songs apart in Chicken Noodles.  I usually think of  Electric Tears and Colma as being somewhat similar, but that is probably a bit misleading.  Anyway Colma is one of my favorite Buckethead albums.  However, if you want some exposure to Buckethead\'s more rocking side, go with Monsters and Robots.  Actually, it doesn\'t really matter which you get because I bet you are already hooked.  At some point you will start buying anything by Buckethead that you can get your hands on.
