Your art, music, projects and links / Re: Post your music
November 01, 2010, 06:28:30 am
Hey guys, some really awesome stuff here with the music.  I think it is great if BH has influenced anyone to continue your passion with music.  I am about to release my first CD, it has taken me 5 years, and like most artists, by the time it\'s done I\'m ready to re-record all of it!  The album is called centripetal narcissism.  It certainly was a tough process, and by the end my equipment and sound quality improved so much, seems stupid to put out the old stuff.  All of the songs will be up by the 11th of October 2010, it is not like BH, I\'m no where near that level.  I play all instruments on it, would love any feedback, and all downloads are free.  I just want people to check it out, not worry about paying for it. Hope you all enjoy, hope BH tours soon also!  here is the link:

also, are they gonna get the travis music sharing back up at any point does anyone know? best to all...

Wow, some great albums in this group.  some that I have been into big time lately:
NoMeansNo-Wrong
Primus-Seas of Cheese
Santana-Santana
Galactic-Vintage Reserve
Beatles-Abby Road
Deftones-All
The Cat Empire-Self Titled
Big Head Todd and the Monsters-Midnight Radio
David Byrne-David Byrne
Charlie Hunter-Bing, Bing, Bing

I could go on, but that should be plenty!  Plenty diverse for sure..

General Discussion / Re: Anyone else annoyed?

Ok so maybe I\'m the clueless one here, someone has got to pm me a link to this so I can hear some of it.  Sounds absurd, I gotta know how lame it really is...

General Discussion / Re: Anyone else annoyed?

I personally think it is easier to steal people\'s art than it is to actually create yourself as an artist.  BH is so influential, because he has created himself.  For someone to go out and try to be this person to me is lazy.  I don\'t mean to put people down, but I think you should take what you like from an artist and try to apply it to yourself as an artist.  Buying a mask, learning paul gilbert and BH licks does not make you BH.  Stealing his tone does you no good as well, because you still are not BH.  I get very annoyed with this from many perspectives, not just BH, but by movies, art, and performance. I believe that if you were to listen carefully, or watch carefully, and try and use that to find who your artist is, then you are more understanding the point of art.  Unless your goal is to be a cover band, then go nuts.  But it\'s like how many people try to sound and look like Jimmy Page, or Hendrix?  To me it\'s cheesy, but you take these people who have used this sound and look to influence and help them grow and you find the real masters, like BH, NoMeansNo, Primus.  True artists in my book.  I love all these guys, but if you listen to my music, it most likely sounds like none of them, I hope not to, as I want my music to be expressed from within.  Sorry for the rant!!
Let\'s get BH back out on the road now!! ;D

I think I speak for most fans when we say we are super happy that new music is on it\'s way.  Understandably the process of printing, legal requirements, and making sure the finished product is acceptable should not be rushed.  But know for sure, that the fans can not wait.  I think the two of you should make it out to NLQP in Ohio, that\'s only about 5hours, and a great place for a show.  can\'t wait for the new disc..

actually a lot of the newer les paul\'s can be chambered like this, not to be confused with semi- hollow, which this guitar is not.  you can also get epiphone les pauls chambered, they have a few different models that it comes standard with. It reduces a lot of the weight, which is a large amount of complaints for most. semi hollows are more like a 335, often with clefs to allow for sound to escape.

So what are your thoughts on it box?!  Do you keep it in standard E-tuning? and how is the fret size?  Do you need monster hands to hit 5 fret separations?

I have been hearing mixed reviews, and am wondering if anyone on here has checked out this axe at all.  I know it has an extra long neck, border of being a baritone guitar. Does it work with a standard tuning? Just wonder on opinion from you all.  Thanks in advance

TDRS artists, music and related topics / Re: BH hoodies
November 01, 2010, 06:44:55 am
If any assistance is ever needed, I do graphic design and would be more than happy to volunteer my time to help with some BH type hoodies.  Living where I do (upstate western NY) I have to wear hoodies 7 months out of the year.  Often my t-shirts are viewed by nobody...

A truly great feat for certain.  No doubt one of the greatest PLAYERS of all time.  I think those other guys are great also, but no where near as diverse, and no where near the skills to be a shredder.  When I think of shredders I think of fast, and skillful.  The Paul Gilberts, the Satrianis, the Rippers.  I think Trey and Brad Paisley are great players, but shredders? Not sure about that.  But either way, at least BH has gotten some more props on being the man.  I think we all know on this site, the he is THE ultimate player.
