I don\'t think you realize how big Canada is. Bucketfel is in Toronto....3600 miles away from Seattle. That\'s not just a quick road trip....New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan etc would be much closer for us bots...

Uncle Mikey (That 1 Guy) told me when I asked if he thought that Buckethead would ever come to Canadaland that it\'s very hard for Big B to travel across borders and whatnot because he wears the whole get-up going through customs etc. Seeing as how I get hassled just for having long hair I can\'t even possibly imagine how much bullshit B would have to endure, they would take him apart I\'m sure.

I would absolutely LOVE for there to be a Montreal show, hell I\'d even make the drive to Toronto if I had to. Sadly I think that probably New York-ish is as close as B will ever get to me, and I LOATHE US customs, so I probably would not go across... even for B.

Here\'s my fingers crossed vote for some Canadian dates, but sadly I just don\'t think that it\'s in the cards for us.

Still.. I can dream.

^^^ Slunk of Funk - Bucket usually plays shows in Mass on almost every tour. For the last 4 or 5 years that he has toured, he has played at Pearl St. in Norhtampton & Paradise in Boston. He also plays at Higher Ground in Vermont & also Toad\'s Place in Connecticut.

Whenever a tour is announced I\'m sure you\'ll be able to find all the dates and details here at TDRS, The Coop & TK.

I truly hope and wish for a swift recovery of Buckethead, and hopefully some tour dates during 2011. I am from Sweden, and for quite some time ago i realized that the chanses of seeing Buckethead peform here are very, very unlikely. So instead i decided that i will travel over to you guys and go see a live show in the US :) I have quite a bit of cash saved up now for this epic trip and as soon as i see a tour date up, I will book it :) Not sure what city/state I would like to see him in tho... But that is really not very important :) New to this forum btw, seems like you got a sweet thing going here!

Okay, but should that stop you from seeing one of thee greatest guitarists alive? I don\'t think so. I like to see full bands perform as well but when i saw Buckethead live in 2008 i wasn\'t pissed that he was by himself it made watch him and see how talented he was. But thats just me.

i haven\'t been to a Buckethead concert before but in my opinion purpose of playing live is with a backup band. But when Buckethead plays onstage alone with his ipod it kinda focuses the audiences attention to him and his guitar.

Thanks :) I really dont mind the long flight since seeing Bucket play live is something i really want to witness :) And it would be pretty sweet to travel to the States aswell! I\'m thinking of perhaps a two week vacation timed with one of his concerts :) The only downside is that i would probably have to travel alone, since i don\'t think any of my friends are that into Buckethead :/

Before I went to his show, I thought the idea of playing with an iPod was weird and wanted to see a band, but when I went I really changed my opinion. It\'s LOUD and sounds great. It IS a Buckethead show, so why not focus in him, the greatest musician in the world?

It doesn\'t really matter who he plays with (or without) when you see him live. It\'s amazing every single time with any set up.

Sorry Pawnbot I am not joking.  I would rather see Buckethead create in the studio than do a live show.

One reason is that I can listen to his cds whenever I want... which is about 2-4 hours a day.  I love his work! and want to hear more of what he is creating not what he has already created.

Another reason is because I have seen him a couple times already.   When I saw the show where he was just with an Ipod I became really bored by the end of the show.  It sounded flat and lacked some of the dynamics of his songs.  When I saw him with pinchface and that1guy I wanted more by the end of the show.  The whole show took me to more places where I wanted to stay.  The boom of the drums got me more into the music than did the stagnant Ipod.  Do I even need to explain how awesome that1guy is and what he did for that show?  The constant barrage of shred got old quick when he was using the Ipod, but with the other musicans it broke up the show and it became a better experience than listening to his recorded stuff for the first time.

My opinion, i know is not popular, but it\'s mine.  I do want to add that I have seen shows that are comprised of only one guy with his guitar and a drum machine, and I really enjoyed it.  Putrid Pile is the dude I'm speaking of and he is a death metal god.  The other is a local guy who does NIN covers all by himself... mind blowing to see him do everything and make it sound right and he goes by Halo9.

Okay that\'s cool, so if he comes to your town an is playing off a iPod your not going to go?  And yes I know how amazing mike is I\'ve seen him live three times and talked to him after twice, very kind very talented. I\'m just trying to understand why you don\'t like it. And I\'m going to look into putrid pile I likes me some death.

I\'ve only seen him personally WITH the ipod.  And have bootlegs of him with a band.  So, the ipod is really all I know when it comes to him performing live, I enjoyed it.  Maybe one day he\'ll tour with a band and I\'ll be able to judge which one I like better but I\'m there for Buckethead either way you look at it.  No matter what/who he\'s with I\'m just happy to be in the US where he tours ;D

I\'d prefer a band hands down too.  Of course, I\'d go iPod or Band, because I haven\'t seen him live yet and I\'m a huge fan, but I can see why having a drummer and bassist would be a much better show than just the iPod.

I have only been to one concert with him and an I-pod :(
However this was and still is the greatest concert I have ever been too and would give an arm and a leg to see him again in Utah before May when I will be unable to see him for the next 2 years.

The advantage of playing with a live band is that he has the ability to jam and go off playing a 30 minute soothsayer or 10 minute whitewash with the most beautiful solo you have ever heard, for all you Led Zeppelin fans you know this with the BBC 30 minute version of Dazed and Confused with Jimmy Page\'s famous guitar bow solo, also there is nothing like being there in person and seeing the man himself play all 6\'7" of him with his monster yet surgeon like hands shredding on the guitar.

thats true actually. before petesbloodyhand closed his account his mishawaka 2006 videos show some extra time during some of the songs. for example, there was extra noodling in fountains of the forgotten which made it from 3:22 to around 4:30.

Hooray for That1Guy worship.. I\'ve seen him something like 12 or 13 times now, I think it\'s safe to say that we are friends (for real) at this point. My kids call him "Uncle Mikey" now and I hang out with him when he\'s in town when we can find the time. A true original, I love his music.

When he played here last Winter he actually dedicated Modern Man to me... what an honor!!!

Proof:

Also, upon request a couple of years ago he played a wee snippet of 5 Second Minute... VERY cool.

I\'ve seen Big B twice with Brain and Butthouse on bass, twice with Pinchface and Del Rey Brewer(Dan Monti I think) Once with CCBOB, Once with Praxis at HOB in Chicago and twice with sequencers and I have to say that each show was amazing in it\'s own way!  The first time I saw Bucket was at the Magic Bag In Detroit and my friend filmed with his elbow on the stage!  First of all how many performers would allow that!  The last show at the Majestic in Detroit with That 1 Guy was also filmed and is a fantastic peformance...one of the best I\'ve seen!  The virtuosity of Buckethead\'s playing goes without saying but when he plays solo the shows take on an incredible vaudville vibe which I personally wouldn\'t miss!  Hands down the best entertainer I\'ve ever seen or ever heard without saying a single word!!
