Title: Beta test new store fron
Post by: Travis on April 06, 2011, 10:00:39 pm
The record store has become spread out all over the place.
I wanted to present a more organized system with a searchable catalog so you can find everything.

This is based on the same catalog as the art store. I want to put it out there for anyone to try and report any short comings or if I missed items from the regular store or if you have a preference before I replace the old system, typos and the like.  It\'s functioning and you can place orders or just look around.

I\'ll add more to it like the art store and other loose ends soon.

Hey Travis,  I like the version when I clicked the "list" option.. not as many CD\'s displayed per page but cool to have descriptions.  Are all the disc that you have for sale listed here because I don\'t see Cyborg Slunks?  I like the teal color but maybe yellow print would shine a little better than the grey?...just a thought.

Yes, this is exactly what I\'m looking for. I missed Cyborg and yes, the grey is a bit dim. Keep it coming.

each album should have a "Like" button ;D

I like the way it looks but display so few albums per page :)

The new store is very organized and concise. I felt like I could navigate more clearly. I liked the pictures of each artist on the home page.

The best addition, if it is an addition, is the search function.

Search is the main reason for doing it. I got a lot of emails saying they couldn\'t find this or that. Like buttons are coming.

I like the chronological listing from newest to oldest better...right now it\'s out of sequence, makes more sense while shopping.

Looks great, really like the new search function and i also felt it was much easier to navigate.

Cool to see the new "site map" drop down menus as-well.

I like!!!  Just played around in the new store and tho I didn\'t have any issues with the old one this is an improvement.

Maybe the site map tab should be at the far left so when the drop down boxes appear they don\'t go right then left like when you use the arrow button on Buckethead artist page tab?

I\'d like a "view all" option for any listing or artist (or even the entire store) that has more than one page. Clicking "Next" several times to find a particular item could become a hassle. Looks great, by the way.

This is a great improvement Travis. However I don\'t think I can seem to find Population Override in the Buckethead music section.

No mistake or apology needed. This is what I asked you to do for me and I thank you. Before I was listing things as "out of stock" in the hope they would return soon. That hasn\'t always worked out so I\'m going to only have in stock items listed.

Out of stock items is another thread and discussion I would like to have and I\'ll get to that soon.

Holy cow ! I\'m designing a new website for my job and I\'m also using ecwid  !

I\'m trying to make an online catalougue for a fancy upscale Antique store in Manhattan. We are not really going to have a shopping cart because the stuff is so expensive and one of a kind. I\'ll show you what it looks like when it\'s done.

I\'ve spent the whole week looking at other sites trying to get ideas and It\'s pretty cool that I can look here too.

The only Thing I can see that is missing is a New Thanatopsis album ;)

Best of Luck with everything. My Birthday is coming up so I\'ll try placing an order soon.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have made the list view 30 products. That way there is only 2 pages to click through.

I also moved the site map to the left to let it unfold properly.

This is an ecwid store like the art gallery, but it\'s being used as a catalog only for now. The old shopping cart system still handles the back end. At some point that will get moved over if every seems to be OK with this system.

I like the new layout - nice!

One "glitch" I noticed is you have 2 different buckethead t-shirts titled as #8.

also I would love to hear samples of Lindy, Bonebrake, Camille and the other artists. I could probably search youtube or itunes but it would be nice if links were provided - many of those cds are on my radar but I\'d like to hear samples before I buy.

I love how slick it feels, I wouldn\'t say the old layout was outdated but after seeing this I\'m glad it\'s had the overhaul.

I\'m just going to stick this here rather than make a new topic but I was growing worried about an order I had made and how it hadn\'t arrived yet. Today I got a customs charge letter. Bugger!

Hey Travis,

Is there anyway we can save our info for purchasing anything on the site? Like our house address? etc. Its can become a drag to type that all in over and over again. Im not, in anyway, complaining but i was just wondering if its possible to make the checkout process faster and easier.

The cookie should be storing your address until you change it.
Maybe I\'m wrong and thats my Mac doing that.
Anyway, once the back end gets switched over you will be a able to register and your account info will be saved.

Just a typo fix, decoding the tombs to decoding the tomb of bansheebot. and also lightyears says sold out on the old page and then it says in stock in the new page.

2 more small typos

on the crime slunk scene poster, you have it listed in red as $5 but in the small description and the "buy" tab say $15

also you didn\'t capitalize the word "sticker" in the BH 4 sticker pack (I noticed everything else on that page is capitalized). You also have $10 twice in a row in the description.

The two page option is better, but a "View All" would make it easier than toggling between pages in a gallery. It is easier to compare items using the scroll function on a mouse moving up and down rather than going between page 1 and 3 or something like that.

Any set date as to when the new store front will be in full effect and replacing the old system?

Travis, for those albums that are sold out. Why not put them on a separate page and maybe, if there is demand, there could be a repressing or not

I dont know ;D

People need to buy Pepper\'s Ghost, including me ;D

I was just thinking the same thing, it\'d be easier to see any other albums that have sold out. And plus, i need Shadows, i hope that one and Pepper\'s are the first ones repressed, and repressed as soon as possible  ;D

maybe Travis while the discussion is open.

How about an "Out of sale" page, just to notify which albums are sold out. ;D
