Title: THREE New Buckethead Albums!!!
Post by: mlgudead on August 17, 2011, 05:35:36 pm
Pickq um up over at http://bucketheadpikes.com/

Album 3 is the happy holidays album with titled tracks and printed artwork.

Album 4 is a bunch of ISOT/IOLM style songs

Album five is two(I have heard from people 16 and 19 min, no idea if its true or not so don\'t quote me) tracks that are again ISOT style tracks of him doing softer solos.

Excellent!  ;D

Quick question for Travis in reference to album three.

When the Holiday LE was purchased, the regular edition was to be offered to purchasers of this LE for half price by using our invoice.

Is this offer still valid at the Buckethead Pikes KIOSK?

Thanks, Val

P.S. just curious, though in the end it will not make any difference, I bought the LE and I plan on also buying the official release.   :)

^^^ I was wondering the same exact thing. I went ahead and ordered numbers 4 & 5 but I\'m going to wait a little while until we hear Travis chime in on this.

Either way, I\'ll end up supporting Bucket and buying another of the record.  ;)

I too ordered 4 and 5 but am waiting to hear from Travis.

Today has been horrible and this release just made everything better. "Look Up There" . . . *sigh* :)

I\'ve had a number of emails about this.
When HH was first released here I had discussed with Bucketheadland doing a half off price for those that purchased the original limited edition when it was offered for sale here as a regular CD. I thought that would be a cool thing to do. So, the offer was made at the time of the sale. A lot has changed since then. I don\'t think a version of the HH as it was then will be offered for sale here as Pikes has set up to handle all new releases exclusively from their camp and HH may well be altered from the original limited version, i don\'t know.

I know there is a bit of confusion about TDRS vs Pikes. TDRS is my label and store and is set up to sell music recorded here at my studio for the most part. Several years ago, after the original Bucketheadstoystore went belly up I agreed to host it as quite a mess had been made just prior to it ending. I did the best job I could do to make things right by the folks that had trouble with that store and naturally after I started hosting it I wanted it to be an honest and reliable outlet for Bucketheadstoystore.

I have carried as many Buckethead CDs as I could here so they would be under one roof and try to have an alternative from ebay. Many labels, TDRS, ION, Perceval Press, and several others, mostly recorded here.

Most of the CD\'s on the Bucketheadland label in the last few years were not recorded here. I think those folks would like to be able to control the distribution of their music and that makes total sense. So I doubt new releases from them will be sold here any longer and at some point I would think the whole catalog will end up there as well and leave my store for music recorded here, should they choose to handle that elusively as well, though as far as I know that has yet to be determined.

I fully expect to release more collaborations we record here as we always have and to make announcements regarding those releases. However, information like discounts, release dates and customer service questions related to the Buckethealand label releases are now best directed to the Pike site.

I\'m happy to answer any question as best I can, however, I greatly appreciate the the need for any label to release and distribute the way they see fit and some of the mystery of Bucketheadland was always part of the fun and so I will respect that.

So, I just wanted to try to say something here because over the last few months I have gotten many email asking for this information. I hope this helps

This. The discount didn\'t enter my mind. They\'re amazingly cheap anyway, even with shipping for me over here in the UK.

Well, Underground Chamber sounds quite improvy (if thats a word), think of it as Inbred Mountain mixed with Island of Lost Minds and a little bit of funk as a garnish.

Look Up There on the other hand, is pretty much like Colma, Electric Tears, A Real Diamond in the Rough, Shadows Between the Sky and Captain EO\'s Voyage mixed together with plenty of ISOT-like drum beats and jams like the one in Vol 5 Track 1, or Vol 2 Track 5, or Vol 8 Track 1. Oh, and there is a bit of shred guitar as well.

Not received mine yet. Patient UK bot sitting on his tail patiently.

All this makes me wonder how many albums he has planned for this series? Not 13 surely? We\'re very lucky if we\'ve got 8 to come.

To me, LuT sounds nothing like Colma or ET. Golden Eyes sounds pretty fresh, kind of like rock mixed with electronic. I can\'t quite put my finger on the beat or guitar. Well, guitar sounds like older songs, but nothing particular.

The title track starts out with some ARDITR-type stuff and goes into some very SBTS-esque riffs. They remind me of that album\'s title track. How it starts out minor and goes major. Very similar moods and riffs to Shadows between the Sky there. As for CEV influence, there are some spacy sounds on Look up There as well as a similar improv-type style.

did anyone notice that on 3\' clearance the track order is slightly different than happy hollidays. three headed guardian has been shifted from track 3 to track 9. i personally reckon it plays better in this order.
i learned track 10 on guitar (only the riffs) and was wondering what the title of the track would turn out to be. Harpoon the goon. lol cool title.

You must repent!!!  Spend all you next wage on the cds you have missed and then listen to them back to back until you realise the error of your ways.  Once this is completed and only then!!! shall you be forgiven by lord B.

As much as id like to do that i wont. I HATE CDs and thats all he\'s got tons of CDs one of Sonys big money making formats, EX: Oh My GOD! One tiny scratch guess i gotta buy a new one........... Long story short so i don\'t sound like I\'m insulting the man. I don\'t buy CDs anymore and I\'m not at a point where i have a nice Mp3 player or a company i want to buy Mp3s from so..........No more bucket for me till LP......don\'t get me wrong i even sample his new stuff and think about buying it. when i seen him live last i stood looking at his two new ones he had for sale their but i guess women are right size does matter. Oh and on a side note a big F-U to sony and i know big b agrees.

^^Well, I guess supporting apple\'s monopoly and corruption is the next best choice? Right? Corporations rule the earth, dude. It\'s sucks but it is what it is.

Besides, aren\'t almost all of big bs records independent or on a smaller label? The last thing he did with Sony was giant robot, I think.

CDs are awesome! You can re-sell them and get some money back if you\'re bored with them. And they make great targets for shooting too ;)
Title: Re: THREE New Buckethead Albums!!!

That doesn\'t add up to me.  I buy CD\'s so I have the music and Bucket gets paid as he rightfully should.  You only ever need to use a cd once so it won\'t get damaged.

I\'m not trying to convince you, you obviously have your reasons, but that\'s the way I see it.  Hell, if buckethead released all future recordings through a new format that uses dog shit, I\'d buy it!!!

Yes he only was with them for a short bit....but my point was the "Compact disk" is one of sonys bull spit formats. But I just hate cds their small and i think they cost to much when compared to what you get when buying records instead. But mainly i just find it really really really really hard to believe that big b himself doesn\'t know how much better vinyl sounds. But thats about as deep as i want to go like i said i don\'t want to sound like I\'m insulting the man. Much love sail on sail on

I see your point Sauce but this is not the 70\'s anymore. As an audiophile myself I love vinyl (I have a couple hundred) and yes I do have a working record player but I just don\'t get what you are saying. Why would you deny yourself listening to good music if that is your passion regardless of the format. Look Up There is a freaking awesome cd and the way Big B is marketing and selling them makes it a bit more affordable for us and I would bet he makes a better profit too.

Vinyl scratches pretty easy, if you leave it next to a heat source (including the sun) it warps, you drop it it breaks, they take up alot of space and I can\'t play them in my jeep or on my boombox and it doesn\'t travel very well if I want to take some to my buddys house and play them.

Cds are a little better, maybe not sound quality for the discerning ear but strengthwise. I have some pretty scuffed up cds that still play just fine, I have never had one warp in my jeep or break by dropping it, and I can store about 4 times as many in the same space as lp\'s. If todays artists only put out music on vinyl only a couple people would buy them given the choice of other formats - there is really no market for them except for hardcore audiophiles and collectors. But don\'t worry, you don\'t need to buy cds - from the trends I read it looks like cds wont be around much longer either. Next year may be the last year cds are pressed.

Everyone thanks for your input i wasn\'t really wanting to bitch but I don\'t really have any friends that listen to bucket or buys records.........so yeah i figured unless here it would\'ve fallen on deaf ears.

Butt i still thinks it\'s crazy that he doesn\'t press lps but I\'m just a damn negative nancy......lol just an after thought guess it would get crazy keeping like 30+ records for ONE artist

I\'m not someone to tell people how to run their business but I think he is missing the mark on LP\'s as well. It seems that many of todays artists independent and otherwise are releasing vinyl. Beck has alot of his stuff on vinyl, Animals as Leaders has their current stuff as LP\'s as do many-many current artists. It would be cool if big b put out more vinyl .

If Big B would release one album on vinyl what would it be? M&R, GR, BHL?? - What album would you like to see pressed?
