Hey, all. I just heard my first Buckethead song about an hour ago, and I already want to purchase at least 1 album of his (but most likely more). I apologize if this information is elsewhere on the site, but I couldn\'t find a forum search feature, and I\'m not positive the store FAQ has this answer.
The FAQ says this:
"For US domestic orders CD\'s are $3.50 for the first CD and $1.50 for each additional CD."
Yet the product page shows $15 for a Buckethead CD. Which is correct? Thanks for any responses. :)
each cd is 15 dollars, 3.50 is shipping
watcha orderin? ;D
Yeah, the CD itself is $15 and postage is $3.50, making ordering one CD cost $18.50.
If you say what song you heard I could recommend a good starter album.
Well, the very first song I heard was Carpal Tunnel Slug off Pepper\'s Ghost. I listened to the rest of Pepper\'s Ghost on YouTube, and it\'s absolutely killer. I would definitely get Pepper\'s Ghost. I also think Population Override seems like a safe bet, but I really haven\'t heard anything from it except the 30-second clips available on most CD websites. I may go with Cuckoo Clocks of Hell if I\'m feeling ... heavy? :D Any other recommendations?
Try Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot and Albino Slug. Those are pretty similar to Pepper\'s Ghost. Population Override is OOS here ATM, but it is a brilliant album.
If you like heavy then try Inbred Mountain and Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock. Cuckoo Clocks of Hell isn\'t as good as EMAC, but people disagree on that.
Thanks for the suggestions, Alex. I\'ll be sure to check out all of those albums prior to placing an order.
I\'ve been listening to a lot of BH\'s albums on lala.com, you can listen to an album once for free. I\'m listening to Pepper\'s Ghost right now. Try to buy here though if you find something you like.
Thanks for the tip, puzld. (By the way, I figured out your avatar puzzle lol.)
Another quick question, and I don\'t want to make a new thread about it because it still has to do with ordering. Does the Albino Slug CD come with the short or long version of Forgotten Trail? I\'ve read that iTunes released a new version of the track with about a 7-minute solo tacked on.
chickentrain..
about the forgotten trail.. i believe i read somewhere that it was an itunes only. not quite sure if the site was accurate.. maybe travis can clear that up for us
u should also check out buckets new cd shadows between the sky. that album is very inspiring, along with colma, electric tears, and a real diamond in the rough.
once u get settled in to bucket.. start listening to his side projects like thanatopsis, praxis etc. u wont be disappointed one bit. travis has an amazing debut album aswell u should check it out.
The version of Forgotten Trail on the Albino Slug CD is only about 1 minute long, and the iTunes version is the same intro with 7 minutes of solo on the end. I bought the CD from here then paid 79p for the one track off iTunes.
Hey, thanks for all the responses. I like this forum because it seems like a bunch of friendly folks who actually know what they\'re talking about. Also, your suggestions as to what albums I should look at have been dead-on accurate so far.
Alex, that\'s something I am considering doing. I\'ve never gotten anything on iTunes before, though. Either way, I still think the 1-minute version of the song is excellent, and I would still buy the CD even if I don\'t get the 7-minute solo.
P.S. Has anyone noticed how awesome "Gigan" is on EMAC? :D
Gigan is excellent.
My favourite on there is all of the Lurker at the Thresholds put together, turned up to 11. ;)
PS, If you want to check if you like slightly more \'experimental\' stuff, try listening to Crime Slunk Scene and Slaughterhouse on the Prairie. (Currently on pre-order, read this thread for all the info you need: http://www.tdrsmusic.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=TDRS;action=display;num=1269114165
Just a little update. (Why make a new thread when I\'ve got this one? ;D)
I\'m still gathering which CDs I want to get:
- I\'m fairly positive I\'m going to get Pepper\'s Ghost and Albino Slug.
- I\'m somewhat positive I\'d like to get Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot and Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock.
- I\'d like to get Population Override, but you know the story there. :)
- I\'ve yet to have time to listen to anything else yet, so I can\'t say I like any other ones because I haven\'t heard anything else by Buckethead. (Well, I\'ve heard some 30-second clips of Cuckoo Clocks, but that really doesn\'t count.)
- I definitely want to get the Buckethead cap! I\'ve never bought a "band" or "music-related" hat before, and Buckethead is the first guy I\'ve heard whose merchandise I would proudly wear. (On a side note, I think it\'s neat to wear a hat that says "buckethead" because people who don\'t know of Buckethead will think I\'m weird.)
- I hope the hat still comes with the other hat for free!
That\'s all for now. Hopefully my next update will be what I\'ve actually ordered!
Final word: I will eventually look into all of the albums you guys recommended, but I haven\'t got the time at the moment (or the cash LOL).

Thats how I feel about wearing my Buckethead t-shirt to school (my favorite shirt of all time now). I want to get another shirt and maybe that nice cap. :)

Yeah, they\'ve got some really sweet Buckethead merchandise. I just ordered the black cap, and the red one comes free. I also ordered my first session of Buckethead albums: Albino Slug, Pepper\'s Ghost, Elephant Man\'s Alarm Clock, and Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot. I can\'t wait for them to arrive! :D
That\'s a nice selection.
That will keep tou going for a while.
My first Buckethead CDs were
1. Electric Tears
2/3. Crime Slunk Scene/Bucketheadland 2 (from TDRS)
I\'ve listened to two more albums while waiting for my Buckethead stuff to arrive: The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell and Inbred Mountain. I\'ve listened to both albums multiple times.
I\'m not sure if I like Cuckoo Clocks enough that I\'d get it. It has great guitar and drumming in most songs, but it just doesn\'t feel as cohesive as the rest of the Buckethead albums I ordered.
On the other hand, Inbred Mountain is INSANE. Now that I\'ve listened to it in its entirety, I really wish I\'d stuck that on the end of my order so that I could have saved the $2.00 on shipping that I\'ll be forced to cough up if I order it by itself.
I guess it\'ll just have to wait until "session two" of my Buckethead orders. :) I hope Population Override is in stock by then. :\'(
I feel I should put an end to this thread.
The stuff arrived! It was crammed in my mailbox, and none of the CDs or cases ended up with any damage at all. Even the hats sprung back into shape.
I\'m very pleased with my order! Good job TDRS & Buckethead! I will definitely order from you again.
The hats are not cheap feeling either! They\'re just as good as any other baseball cap I\'ve worn.
;D
