^^^ I agree Loaf.

It doesn\'t really matter who he plays with (or without) when you see him live. It\'s amazing every single time with any set up.

Exactly my point.

You\'re joking right??

Sorry Pawnbot I am not joking.  I would rather see Buckethead create in the studio than do a live show.

One reason is that I can listen to his cds whenever I want... which is about 2-4 hours a day.  I love his work! and want to hear more of what he is creating not what he has already created.

Another reason is because I have seen him a couple times already.   When I saw the show where he was just with an Ipod I became really bored by the end of the show.  It sounded flat and lacked some of the dynamics of his songs.  When I saw him with pinchface and that1guy I wanted more by the end of the show.  The whole show took me to more places where I wanted to stay.  The boom of the drums got me more into the music than did the stagnant Ipod.  Do I even need to explain how awesome that1guy is and what he did for that show?  The constant barrage of shred got old quick when he was using the Ipod, but with the other musicans it broke up the show and it became a better experience than listening to his recorded stuff for the first time.

My opinion, i know is not popular, but it\'s mine.  I do want to add that I have seen shows that are comprised of only one guy with his guitar and a drum machine, and I really enjoyed it.  Putrid Pile is the dude I'm speaking of and he is a death metal god.  The other is a local guy who does NIN covers all by himself... mind blowing to see him do everything and make it sound right and he goes by Halo9.

Okay that\'s cool, so if he comes to your town an is playing off a iPod your not going to go?  And yes I know how amazing mike is I\'ve seen him live three times and talked to him after twice, very kind very talented. I\'m just trying to understand why you don\'t like it. And I\'m going to look into putrid pile I likes me some death.

sorry man after reading my post I did sound like a jerk... its so hard to get inflection across in posts.

No offence taken... just trying to say how I feel about it.

I hope I did not offend you as well.

I do know that my thoughs on this are in the minority and in no way am I trying to get people to think like I do.  I just like letting you bots know how this bot thinks.

I\'ve only seen him personally WITH the ipod.  And have bootlegs of him with a band.  So, the ipod is really all I know when it comes to him performing live, I enjoyed it.  Maybe one day he\'ll tour with a band and I\'ll be able to judge which one I like better but I\'m there for Buckethead either way you look at it.  No matter what/who he\'s with I\'m just happy to be in the US where he tours ;D

I\'d prefer a band hands down too.  Of course, I\'d go iPod or Band, because I haven\'t seen him live yet and I\'m a huge fan, but I can see why having a drummer and bassist would be a much better show than just the iPod.

I have only been to one concert with him and an I-pod :(
However this was and still is the greatest concert I have ever been too and would give an arm and a leg to see him again in Utah before May when I will be unable to see him for the next 2 years.

The advantage of playing with a live band is that he has the ability to jam and go off playing a 30 minute soothsayer or 10 minute whitewash with the most beautiful solo you have ever heard, for all you Led Zeppelin fans you know this with the BBC 30 minute version of Dazed and Confused with Jimmy Page\'s famous guitar bow solo, also there is nothing like being there in person and seeing the man himself play all 6\'7" of him with his monster yet surgeon like hands shredding on the guitar.

thats true actually. before petesbloodyhand closed his account his mishawaka 2006 videos show some extra time during some of the songs. for example, there was extra noodling in fountains of the forgotten which made it from 3:22 to around 4:30.

Hooray for That1Guy worship.. I\'ve seen him something like 12 or 13 times now, I think it\'s safe to say that we are friends (for real) at this point. My kids call him "Uncle Mikey" now and I hang out with him when he\'s in town when we can find the time. A true original, I love his music.

When he played here last Winter he actually dedicated Modern Man to me... what an honor!!!

Also, upon request a couple of years ago he played a wee snippet of 5 Second Minute... VERY cool.

^^^THAT\'S COOL,  I\'ve met him after each Buckethead show I went to during the 08 tour.  I don\'t know whether you could call us "friends" but, he\'s a pretty cool guy and remembered me each time I met him ;D  I guess next time Buckethead tours with him I\'ll see if he remembers me

I don\'t think he\'s THAT tall, next to Snoop Dogg he was about the same height, 6\'3"
