Your art, music, projects and links / Meet Nutzo!

I\'m an admin on a diecast cars collectors website, Diecast Nutz>http://www.diecastnutz.com/ (you are welcome to join!). I drew this guy, Nutzo the squirrel, to kick off the holidays-you may see him on a custom diecast car too.

My younger son Chris, 13, has been saving up his money and bought himself a New iMac. This is his first release editing on it. His is the foot-licking cannibal assassin. If you subscribe and/or post a comment he will be thrilled.

Thanks for taking the time!

Greetings all. I was actually a musician playing out in bars and clubs many moons ago in the NY City metro area in the 80s. My band recorded a bunch of tunes at a place called Boogie Hotel, the same one named after a Foghat album. We got to meet some cool musicians there (remember John Waite?). Other bands that recorded there were: Zebra, Blue Oyster Cult, Honeymoon Suite (remember "New Girl Now"?) and many more. The mixing board used for the recording was a 48 track Neve I think it was, recently transported from the Hit Factory in NYC. John Lennon recorded Double Fantasy on this board!

We are still trying to get the original reel-to-reel tapes converted. This is direct from cassette to PC in WMA format. There is even a bonus video introduction! Some glitches and tape dropouts as can be expected, but here they are for your listening displeasure. I tried to post photobucket links to pics of the recording sessions, but for some reason they don\'t work. Thanks very much.

This is too scary to think about, but in retrospect, think about what an evil tool this might have been in any number of "natural disasters"

Alternately, McCain said he will accept the public money, which means he can\'t accept private contributions for his campaign. He hasn\'t been able to come up with even half of what Obama\'s private donations amount to. Guess the Republicans don\'t like parting with their money all that much, or they figure they don\'t need to donate?

I was looking for a book on Kustom Kulture vintage car and hot rod artists (Ed Roth, Robert Williams, Von Dutch), and found this website. It was priced at around half of what I have seen on  Amazon, for example. On the other hand, check this out!

General Discussion / Butchering The Beatles
April 20, 2009, 03:26:17 pm
Anyone ever check out this album? Came out a couple of years ago. Beatles done with crunchy guitars.
My favorite: Hey Bulldog sung by Alice Cooper with Steve Vai on guitar.
**********
Butchering The Beatles: A Headbashing Tribute features the biggest, the baddest, the heaviest all-star line-up ever assembled to honor what is arguably the greatest band ever - The Beatles. Over 50 of rock's most notorious stars bring their unique bone-crushing slant to these remarkable songs. Grammy award-winning producer/guitarist Bob Kulick comments, "Beatles songs are the Holy Grail. They're the best rock songs ever written. These new recordings are totally faithful, yet completely different." Butchering The Beatles features 12 ass-kicking versions of The Beatles' chart-topping hits including "Hey Bulldog," barked out by the legendary Alice Cooper and "Tomorrow Never Knows," by Billy Idol plus lead vocals by Lemmy ("Back In The USSR"), Geoff Tate ("Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"), and Billy Gibbons ("Revolution"). Featuring: Alice Cooper, C.C. DeVille, Billy Idol, Lemmy Kilmister, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Duff McKagan, Tommy Shaw, Geoff Tate and many more!

General Discussion / Foghat
March 24, 2009, 04:28:05 pm
They were once billed as "the hardest working band in rock and roll". Here\'s the original lineup. Lonesome Dave (RIP) lived in Shoreham, Long Island until his passing, about two miles away from where I live right now.

Was lucky enough to see them in my youth...
