General Discussion / Re: favorite albums of all time...
January 21, 2011, 01:36:08 am
I would have to pick 10 from my favorite genre METAL!  although I listen to many styles.

1.  Black Sabbath- Sabotage
2.  Judas Priest- Unleashed in the East Live
3.  Iron Maiden- Powerslave
4.  Metallica- Master of Puppets
5.  S.O.D.- Live @ Budakon
6.  Slayer- Reign in Blood
7.  Anthrax-Spreading the Disease
8.  Megadeth- Rust in Peace
9.  Pantera-  Far Beyond Driven
10- Morbid Angel- Blessed are the Sick

This is sort of my chronolgy of what I call the Golden Age of Metal late 70\'s to early 90\'s.

TDRS Music, Travis, Buckethead and everyone involved with these projects are blazing the trail of modern music production!  The record companies and labels are having a conference right now...heard a bit about it on NPR...on how to market music in the digital age.  I\'m sure they are aware of operations like TDRS and are threatened by this method of self-sufficiency!  I say keep up the good work!!  The only thing on major labels these days is mostly commercial garbage.

The way people obtain music is very different now, ten years ago record stores sold music to the consumer.  Obviously, that is no longer the case and record companies and artists are both struggling to make money.  As more musicians become self sufficient the need for record companies will diminish.  In my opinion, artists are going to have to make it on their own.  The tools for success are already in place...record your music, make copies, sell music, play shows, sell merchandise, take money to the bank...should be a piece of cake!!  As Martin Atkins from Invisible Records would say "Welcome to the music biz...you\'re fucked."  You gotta love it!

QuoteI\'d love to see Peppers Ghost or Shadows Between the Sky get repressed, i\'d definitely buy either or.

In addition to these...I\'d bet you\'d sell a bunch of Population Override and Bucketheadland 2.

7 days until Bucket hits the Majestic theater in Detroit!!!  One week from right now I hope to be camping out in the front of the stage ;D

Hope you have a great birthday binge Bucket!  May you have many, many more!  We love ya Big B!

Maybe the site map tab should be at the far left so when the drop down boxes appear they don\'t go right then left like when you use the arrow button on Buckethead artist page tab?

I like the chronological listing from newest to oldest better...right now it\'s out of sequence, makes more sense while shopping.

Hey Travis,  I like the version when I clicked the "list" option.. not as many CD\'s displayed per page but cool to have descriptions.  Are all the disc that you have for sale listed here because I don\'t see Cyborg Slunks?  I like the teal color but maybe yellow print would shine a little better than the grey?...just a thought.

QuoteThis has intrigued me, I wonder if some of these binges could be used as backing tracks?  Who knows.  I\'m probably gonna order it when I get paid next week. ;)

I\'m sure this would be great to jam along with...sounds like a fun binge to me ;D

Fantastic!  What a cool piece of history...I can\'t believe anyone would leave that behind!  My feet are killing me from all the heavy names being dropped here! ;D

Hey Travis,  thanks so much for sharing the pics of your studio!  I\'ve heard people on the forums say you\'re originally from Michigan..so I was wondering if you know Glen Brown.  He has a studio in Lansing website is www.gbp-studio-acoustics.com.  I\'ve been fortunate to work a few times with him.  Ironically, he was in a band with Bill Laswell back in the early 70\'s called Sonar Eclipse...sorry a little of subject here but couldn\'t resist asking!  I am absolutley loving the Holiday LE...thanks so much for all you do!

QuoteMuch as I like the people you mention Silverado I think that Buckethead would rather play with people he\'s comfortable with, ie: people who he\'s played with in the past.

So, to that end, here\'s my choice(s):
Buckethead: lead guitar (Obviously! LOL!)
Mirv: rhythm guitar
Travis: keys
Butthouse: bass (or Bootsy, but I\'d rather see House!)
Brain: drums. (this is a "no Brainer" - horrible pun!)

If there has to be vocals (I\'m good either way) I would go with Bootsy and/or maybe Maximum Bob and/or cameo appearances, like for instance Patton (dreamy!) maybe Serj, and some of the other vocalists from Enter The Chicken.

This would be the traveling road-show of the Century.
More fun would be had by all than a truckload of barrels of monkeys.

I can dream...

smooches,
» Phy³

Definitely a fantastic dream.  I love the idea of cameo\'s..the more the merrier Pigface type show with different vocalists would be an awesome twist from what he\'s done in the past.  Keeping the usual suspects as the main band!  That would only happen in my dreams!!

Greetings all in Bucketheadland,  I am a new poster at the forum but no stanger to TDRS!  If everyone had the opportunity to create an all-star band line-up to join Big B on tour...hopefully in support the new LE holiday CD.. who would you like to see?  Since I been playing the new disc non-stop, I can\'t get the idea of a tour for this music out of my head!  I have a dream of seeing:

Buckethead-Guitar
Travis Dickerson-Keyboards
Billy Sheehan-Bass
Terry Bozzio-Drums
Bill Moseley-Vocals
